Amazon is looking to close April with a bang for gamers as it's holding a special Amazon Gaming Week sale for various video games and accessories dedicated to them.
Xbox fans, especially, are in for a treat this week as all variants of the WD_Black C50 Storage Expansion Cards are some of the lucky accessories going on sale this week. These include its 2TB variant for $213.99 at Amazon (was $624.00), 1TB variant for $149.99 at Amazon (was $374.99), and 512GB variant for $99.99 at Amazon (was $199.99).
"The WD_BLACK C50 is a great expansion card for Xbox Series X|S, with a new lower price point, a fantastic design, and impeccable performance." — Zachary Boddy, former Staff Writer
Windows Central review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the 1TB variant of the WD_Black Storage Expansion Card if you can't afford the 2TB version but still need more space than the 512GB version.
This is the 512GB version, and it's currently the cheapest Xbox Storage Expansion Card you can buy to upgrade your Xbox's storage.
Why buy the WD_Black C50 Storage Expansion Cards for Xbox?
Aside from having plentiful install space, Western Digital's WD_Black C50 Storage Expansion Cards for Xbox's major selling points include an eye-pleasing, compact design that makes it easy to store while traveling, a nice and simple installation method, and a durable build.
Performance-wise, these SSD cards can match the Xbox Series X|S's internal SSD Read Speeds of 2.4GHz and Write Speeds of 4.8GHz by using Xbox Velocity Architecture. This means that when you're playing games directly from the cards, their performance will not suffer for it and run as well as if they were installed in the internal SSD.
That's another cool thing about the WD_Black C50 Storage Expansion Cards: you can directly launch and play games installed in them, instead of having to constantly be shuffled to fit into the console's internal SSD like you would external SSD drives.
Combine this with Quick Resume compatibility to prevent you from losing progress while you turn the console off, and more affordable price tags compared to Seagate's Xbox Storage Expansion Cards (e.g., $212.49 for WD_Black's 2TB expansion card vs $274.99 for Seagate's 2TB expansion card), and you've got one of the best, bang-for-your-buck SSDs you can buy for your Xbox's storage unit.
Alternative discounts
When Amazon's discounts expire, or WD_Black Storage Expansion cards run out of stock there, here are some alternative discounts sold elsewhere you can use as backup options:
- 1TB Card — $149.99 at Best Buy (was $359.99)
- 2TB Card — $301.17 at Best Buy (was $559.99)
