World Backup Day lands every year on March 31, serving as a great reminder that your data isn't as safe as you think it is. Unfortunately, this year's event arrives as storage prices are hitting historic highs, caused by the ongoing RAMpocalypse.

The antidote? A quality NAS setup filled with hard-disk drives, which haven't seen as sharp a price spike. UGREEN's NASync DH2300, which we handed an Editor's Choice Award, has dropped to the lowest price of the year at 175.99 at Amazon, and I've also rounded up some quality discounted drives with which to fill it.

Is UGREEN's NASync DH2300 a good option for NAS novices?

Windows Central Senior Editor Ben Wilson got his hands on the UGREEN NASync DH2300 late last year, and it was in fact his first foray into the world of bulk storage capable of safeguarding your data and streaming to your other devices around the home.

What he found should be comforting to those who are perhaps a tad overwhelmed with the world of network-attached storage. Not only is the DH2300 an affordable, entry-level option (made better with this Amazon Big Spring Sale deal), but it's also super easy to set up and manage.

Wilson remarked in his NASync DH2300 review:

"I wanted to know if the simplest, entry-level NAS options could run a home media server without struggling with basic transcoding, and I'm satisfied that the DH2300 fits the bill. UGREEN doesn't expect you to have encyclopedic knowledge of networking or storage formats, and it even works with years-old mechanical drives if you don't want to commit to multi-terabyte server equivalents."

You can store all of your music, movies, and photos on it and access them from your other devices, and you can use the two-drive bay to set up a RAID system for better data protection.

The introductory cost might seem a tad high, but you have to consider how much you'll save by ditching costly cloud storage services. And with this limited 20% discount at Amazon, you're getting the lowest price of the year so far.
