My wired external SSDs are convenient for portable storage, but cable management can be a drag. Backing up my biggest files, videos, photos, and games is getting difficult due to the space they demand these days.

There is a better way to back up mountains of data. UGREEN's NASync DH2300 NAS enclosure is now on sale for $186.99 at Amazon. It can hold two 3.5-inch internal hard drives, like Seagate's $1199 BarraCuda 2TB examples, but, as we tested, also works with drives ripped from an old desktop.

"I wanted to know if the simplest, entry-level NAS options could run a home media server without struggling with basic transcoding, and I'm satisfied that the DH2300 fits the bill." — Ben Wilson, Senior Editor

For those unaware, a NAS (Network Attached Storage) is a home server of sorts that connects to your network router. It allows authorized users to access, store, and share files across multiple compatible devices from a centralized hub, and vice versa.

Most NAS enclosures can be complicated to set up, but UGREEN's NASync DH2300 is designed to be beginner-friendly and intuitive for users who have never used one before.

It supports up to 64TB of storage via two 3.5-inch drives, 4GB of internal RAM, a 1GbE LAN port, and up to 125MB/s transfer speeds with compatible HDDs. With these specs, you will never run out of storage space for your precious files and can quickly offload large files whenever you need more space.

Otherwise, the DH2300 includes a built-in AI photo album that automatically organizes libraries based on faces, objects, and locales; alongside security measures to protect your data, like two-factor authentication and encrypted transfers. It can also stream backups of your DVD and Blu-Ray collection with a home media service like Plex or Jellyfin.

If you need more storage space for your work documents, videos, and other sensitive data than regular internal SSDs can provide, or you aren't willing to pay monthly fees for cloud storage, the UGREEN NASync DH2300 is your best bet.
