Today, Bandai Namco raised the curtain on Scarlet Nexus' opening movie, giving us our first glimpse at the game's tie-in anime in motion.

The animation, produced by SUNRISE, is accompanied by a rocking soundtrack, performed by The Oral Cigarettes, a four-piece Japanese alternative rock band. The group is no stranger to anime opening theme songs, as they're best known for performing the opening theme song of the anime Noragami Aragoto. Anime fans should also recognize the name SUNRISE, as they've worked on popular animes like Code Geass, Gintama, and Cowboy Bebop.

In the animation, we get a glimpse at some of the members of the Other Suppression Force, or OSF, in action, including main characters Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall. We know that Scarlet Nexus takes place in a future where humans have been able to develop technology that allows them to tap into the substances of human brains, awakening superpowers. This also draws out monsters called the Others, which feast on human brains. As both Yuito and Kasane learn more about the OSF, they both discover that all is not what it seems.

The video also offers a look at the Guardians Edition of Scarlet Nexus. The Guardians Edition, only available on the Bandai Namco store, includes a steel bookcase, a physical art book and art prints, and a slew of other goodies for collectors.

Scarlet Nexus looks like it's shaping up to be one of the most exciting JRPGs available on the Xbox. We're looking forward to discovering the mysteries of a Brain Punk future when Scarlet Nexus arrives on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on June 25th. The anime series will follow closely behind the game's launch and will release summer 2021.
