Here's a look at the features for the case:

  • Military-Grade Drop Protection – A strong, rugged TPU body surrounds the Surface Pro 4 and meets the MIL-STD-810G testing protocols for drop protection.
  • Custom-Designed for Surface – Kensington is an official participant in Microsoft's Designed for Surface program, which helps third-party manufacturers create exceptional accessories that work seamlessly with Surface devices.
  • Hand Strap – Constructed of flexible silicone to fit a wide variety of hand sizes, the hand strap provides users with a convenient and worry-free way to hold the tablet when sharing or collaborating, especially in a highly mobile environment.
  • Type Cover Channel – Allows users to quickly and easily attach or detach the Type Cover without having to remove the rugged case from the Surface Pro 4.
  • QuickFold Design – Ideal for mobile viewing, the Type Cover can be folded up the backside of the rugged case so the keyboard is neatly out of the way without having to detach it.
  • Unobstructed Access – Strategic cutouts in the case allow users to take full advantage of the Surface kickstand, buttons, ports, and cameras.

The Kensington BlackBelt 2nd Degree Rugged Case will be priced at $59.99 but a release date was not announced.

  • Now that would be really useful for the Surface in business.  Makes it much more rugged while still being super portable.  Love the pen clip too!
  • I want a rugged case for 950, good quality
  • Yes and the XL too!
  • I have this case and it's really nice and has been dropped face down a few times without any damage.
Edit: Wrong link here's correct one:
  • This looks sweet
  • Finally a decent rugged case for the surface pro line! Hooray! I hope it comes avaiable outside the US as well.
  • Urban Armor Gear makes rugged cases for Surface Pro 3 and for Pro 4 also. I had one on my 3 since August 2014.
  • I like the fact that the Kensington case doesn't elininate the built in kickstand, unlike the Urban Armor Gear version.
  • I agree, though I wish they'd have something that would attach somehow so it didn't look so odd. I've had UAG on both my 3 and 4 and the kickstand is my only complaint.
  • Also, the UAG has the kickstand section covered with the case. Using it's own kickstand in its stead. Not as flexible in its placement as the Pro 4's, but still extra protection with flexibility.
  • Wow
  • Looks fantastic!
  • I wonder if it is compatible with the SP3? The original Black Belt doesn't work as well with the type cover nor does it have the hand grip.
  • Looks like I'll have to try one of these...if I ever lend the SP4 out to anyone else.    Ha ha!
