Lenovo's ThinkPad X390 Yoga headlines its MWC 2019 business notebook lineup

MWC 2019

Mobile World Congress 2019 kicks off in Barcelona today, and Lenovo is ready for the action with a whole suite of new business laptops. Leading the march are the company's new ThinkPad X390 and ThinkPad X390 Yoga, but Lenovo has several other ThinkPads in the hopper as well.

ThinkPad X390 and X390 Yoga

First up are the ThinkPad X390 and X390 Yoga, each of which has been bolstered with a spate of new features for workers on the go. The ThinkPad X390 now features a 13-inch display in the footprint of a typical 12-inch device, and its bezels are now 50 percent thinner. Also new is ThinkPad PrivacyGuard and PrivacyAlert to help keep your data safe, along with a hybrid HD and IR camera for Windows Hello. And if you're worried about a bad actor spying through your webcam, Lenovo's ThinkShutter will keep out prying eyes.

Meanwhile, the ThinkPad X390 Yoga takes the X390 and turns it into a 2-in-1 convertible laptop. The laptop is 12 percent thinner and five percent lighter than its predecessor, and it now includes dual far-field noise-canceling mics. Also on board here is a hybrid HD and IR camera with Lenovo's ThinkShutter.

Both laptops feature up to an 8th Gen Intel Core vPro i7 processor, along with up to 1TB of storage. The X390 can be equipped with up to 32Gb of RAM, while the X390 Yoga will take up to 32GB of RAM.

ThinkPad T490s, T490, and T590

Lenovo ThinkPad T490S

Sitting below Lenovo's flagship ThinkPads are the ThinkPad T490, T490s and T590. All three laptops can be outfitted with up to Intel's 8th Gen Core vPro i7 processor, up to 48GB of RAM on the T490 and T490, and up to 32GB of RAM on the T490 S. The T490 and T590 can also be equipped with NVIDIA GeForce MS250 graphics, while all three also support integrated graphics with Intel's HD Graphics 620.

All three support up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage as well.

Availability

Each ThinkPad is expected to launch in June in the U.S. starting out at $1,029 for the ThinkPad T590 and topping out at a starting price of $1,360 for the X390 Yoga. Meanwhile, EMEA regions are expected to get the T490 and T590 in March, the X390 and T490s in April, and the X390 Yoga in May.
