Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden has been building plenty of hype in the leadup to its release, but there's one thing we hadn't received just yet: a release date. At Gamescom 2018, however, publisher Funcom cleared everything up by revealing Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden will hit PCs and consoles on December 4.
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is a tactical strategy game that combines the turn-based action of XCOM with a dark, "post-human Earth." Players will get to explore abandoned cities and dilapidated environments while controlling a cast of mutant animals. The key to survival will be unlocking new mutations for your band of misfits, giving them new and unique abilities. Of course, weapons are important to the experience as well, and you'll be able to equip the team with everything from janky slingshots to powerful rifles.
Mutant Year Zero will hit Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 on December 4. You can preorder the game now for all three platforms starting at $34.99. Preordering will net you three days of early access to the full game. And if you opt for the deluxe edition, you'll pick up a bunch of extra goodies like beta access, a digital artbook, and more.
