New HTC Radar ad airs on ITV in the UK, actually looks good

Well, we've heard that HTC (and Samsung) will start picking up some of the slack on advertising for Windows Phone and now we see the fruits of their labor, at least the start of it.

On ITV in the UK, HTC's new ad for the Radar was spotted by WinRumors. The ad showcases Annika Lischke who's an artist/designer type and places emphasis on her managing her life instead of work. It closes with the tag line "In the right hands, it brings you closer" and seems to nail the right elements for the device and OS. Put people first and the People Hub are the main selling points here.

While the commitment and breath of HTC remains to be seen with Windows Phone, this ad seems to be a fairly solid effort. Hopefully we'll see more.

  • Hmmm at least it's happening, but to be honest I didn't think much of it.
  • In the right hands it brings you closer? =/
  • another ignorant statement brought by yours truly.
  • HTC?
  • no by you cavernícola tarado!
  • Or alternatively, it had the stupidest line I've heard in recent years. "In the right hands" is definitely going to be worse than "really".
  • Does it imply that only a select few have "the right hands"? What happens in the wrong hands?
  • or what happens in left hands?!
  • Ugh.
  • Eh, it was okay. The commercial did highlight some of the social aspects of Windows Phone, but I think either HTC should improve the commercials like this, or stick with the type of video they used for the original Radar reveal.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycfB0hTlo2g
  • Better than the two MS commercials I watched this morning over at Winrumors. heh
  • much better than Microsoft's big family "holiday" ad campaign
  • I agree, those did nothing for WP7. I think HTC can build on this commercial. A ad for a musician, feature the zune tile, an ad for the gamer, feature the xbox live hub...
  • Is it just me or does that Radar look a gray-ish black. rubbish dubbed European advert.
  • This commercial bugs the shit out of me.
What kind of ego-maniac artist does a self
portrait in a public setting! Who really want to
    see her man like face.
