Great deal on a great thermostat!
-
Does this support zwave home automation? Will it work with existing alarm systems like Alarm.com ?
-
No Z-Wave, unfortunately.

Wish I got one of these instead of my Nest. The Nest is awesome, but this seems just a little more what I want.
-
Yeah, as you may know I have/had a Nest. I find this as every bit as good and in many ways better. The "unofficial" Windows 10/Mobile app is even more powerful than the official ones on iOS and Android.
-
Someone should write one of those better than IOS apps for Nest.
-
Want. Maybe in my next house.
-
Man I need to upgrade, I have the older model in my home.
-
The only difference I've heard was that the new one is compatible with Apple's Homekit.
-
Does it support all platforms? Also will it run correctly on forced air electric furnaces and heat pumps?
-
See my review I did a few weeks ago.

Our energy company, ComEd in Illinois is selling the Ecobee 3 with remote sensor for $99 (not a typo)
-
This made me look at what Edison was offering in SoCal, its a $125 rebate off the price, given as a bill credit. That makes the thermostat $75.... I'm ordering now.
Here is the link.

An item that makes home heating and air conditioning much more complex than it needs to be. The manufactures of these see nothing more than BIG profits. Good luck to the poor slob that has to pinpoint problems with your systems.
-
You have no idea what you are talking about and it's obvious you have never used one of these or even touched one. This not only quantifies your energy use, but lets you save money on your monthly bill. Do you homework, read up on the tech. I'm not pulling punches here, you sound down right foolish.
-
NOTE: its also on sale for same price on the ecobee website. I'd rather give the company the extra $ directly. Esp for supporting Win 10
-
Support is through a 3rd party app developer.
-
Exactly what i was going to say. The listing talks about Amazon, android, and Apple all over the place.
-
There's also no tax that way which is extra savings.

Got mine yesterday from Amazon. Delivered the same day as ordred. Now lets talk about the 30 minute install. Mine took 3 hours but that was becuase I wanted to put it in the family room vs. the unused room where the builder installed current. Glad I did re-wire, the origial thermostate didn't wire through the "C" wire. When I rewired I was hable to hook the "C" wire from the furnace control board and connec it up just fine. Very happy I got this.
