Surface Laptop 3 with AMD and 32GB is MIA, preorders possibly canceled
Despite being announced by Microsoft, the 32GB AMD version of the Surface Laptop 3 is not listed on the Microsoft Store.
What you need to know
- The 32GB AMD Surface Laptop 3 is not listed on Microsoft's website.
- That version of the device was announced by Microsoft and was briefly listed on the Microsoft Store.
- A customer reports that his order of the device was canceled by Microsoft.
When Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop 3, the company announced several versions of the device. In addition to the 13-inch model that follows its predecessor, the Surface Laptop 3 is also available in a 15-inch model. The 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 is available with AMD processors and for a brief time was available for preorder in 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB models. Now, the 32GB variant of the AMD Surface Laptop 3 is missing from the Microsoft Store.
The 32GB version of the Surface Laptop 3 being available on the Microsoft Store briefly appears to have been a mistake. A customer recently forwarded us an email from Microsoft that canceled an order of the 32GB AMD version of the Surface Laptop 3. The email states, "We're sorry to inform you that we must cancel your purchase; our web page accidentally went live before we intended it to! We were not ready to accept pre-orders for Surface Laptop 3 yet."
The Microsoft Store listing for the Surface Laptop 3 has several versions of the laptop, some of which are greyed out, potentially due to a lack of availability. But the 32GB AMD version of the Surface Laptop 3 is not listed at all. It's likely that this version of the Surface Laptop 3 will be available in the future, but customers wanting more RAM on their new Surface Laptop 3 will have to wait for now.
