If you fancy beefing up your backlog of Xbox games, Microsoft is getting ready to kick off a big sale on hundreds of backward compatible games. Starting May 16, the sale will herald discounts of up to 75 percent off more than 275 backward compatible games.

A full list of sales isn't available just yet, but Xbox Director of Programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb revealed a few popular titles on Twitter, including Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Red Dead Redemption, Skate 3, and GTA IV. Given the high profile of those few, it's likely we'll see prices slashed on some other big backward compatible games as well.

In any case, mark your calendars for May 16 if you're looking to dip your toes back into the Xbox 360 era on your Xbox One. For now, you can get ready by giving our full list of backward compatible titles a look.
