School can be expensive, especially if you're in the market for a new laptop or other accessories to help you make it through a new semester. If you're heading back to school and you live in Canada, Microsoft is having a back-to-school sale that should interest you. Both students and parents of students can save up to 10% on already discounted items through the Microsoft Canada store. For example, you can get the Surface Laptop Go for as little as $759.99 or save as much as $200 on more advanced configurations. And even with the device at its most affordable price, you can take another 10% off. That's a ton of savings for a laptop that makes a great school companion.

The back-to-school sale works in a lot of different ways. Of course you can get yourself a new laptop or 2-in-1 like the Surface Pro 7 with Type Cover (that's actually up to CAD $400 off with the right configuration before your student discount), but you can also get plenty of other peripherals discounted. You can even get some freebies. Students can get Office 365 for free. All you need to get started is a valid school email address.

Some of the accessories you can save on include the Surface Earbuds, which would be $26 off with your student discount, and the Surface Arc Mouse, which is already $20 off and drops even more with your 10% savings. You can read more about the Arc Mouse and the Surface Earbuds in our respective reviews

The student discount, which does include educators as well, is good all year round, actually. It's particularly relevant right now because Microsoft Canada is also featuring a back-to-school sale so you can maximize your savings. But if you ever need something affordable, Microsoft has you covered. The back-to-school sale ends Sept. 12.
