Dead Space 2 and 3 hit the Xbox One backward compatible list

Some heavy hitters are headed to the Xbox One backward compatible list today with Dead Space 2 and 3. The cult space-horror titles are also joined by four others, all from the Cabela's series of hunting games.

With the arrival of Dead Space 2 (opens in new tab) and Dead Space 3 (opens in new tab), the full trilogy is now available to play via backward compatibility. Though they received a fair share of criticism from dedicated fans of the series, both sequels continue the tradition of horror in space that the original Dead Space introduced. As protagonist Isaac Clark, you'll have to take on the terrifyingly twisted Necromorphs as you work to survive and end the alien plague that caused their appearance in the first place. It's worth noting that this marks the first time that both games are available to buy digitally on the Xbox 360 Marketplace as well.
If terror in space isn't quite your shtick, a handful of Cabela's hunting games are also now available. That includes Cabela's Hunting Expeditions (opens in new tab), Dangerous Hunts 2013 (opens in new tab), Survival: SoK (opens in new tab), and Alaskan Adventures (opens in new tab). Each will let you venture into the wilds to take down deer, bears and more from the comfort of your couch.
If you already own any of these games, you should be able to start playing them on your Xbox One now. Otherwise, you can snag them from the Xbox 360 Marketplace to get started. And for more backward compatible titles, be sure to check out our running list of compatible games.

Played Dead Space through, many times. A terrific game. Incidentally, if the are part of EA Access, you are laughing.

Me too, great game and one of the few I played through straight away again...being able to carry on with all weapons and upgrades made it very much an enjoyable revenge fest 😆

Loved the first one. One of my favorite games on the 360 for the time. I did enjoy doing the hardcore mode run on number two even though I wanted to break my tv at times. I don't think I can put myself through that anymore.

All I need now is the Tomb Raider games, Far Cry 2, TDU and Max Payne 3 and I can ditch my 360 Completely. Oh, and the Final Fantasy XIII games.
-
This game needs a VR remake.
-
They would call it Dead Space: Heart Attack edition.

Keep 'em coming!

Would LOVE these on the Windows Store.

Dead Space 3 is also a great co-op campaign game! I was waiting for a long time to see it BC
