While we just placed an order for the Lenovo ThinkPad 8, there’s another 8-inch Windows tablet that has been very popular. It’s the Dell Venue 8 Pro. There’s a really good deal on it right now. You can grab the 32 GB version for $199.99 and the 64 GB version for $249.99. What’s the catch? You have to live near a Micro Center store in the U.S. because the deal is only available in-store.
Dell Venue 8 Pro specifications:
- Windows 8.1 (32-bit)
- 8” IPS HD touch display (1280x800)
- Intel Atom Quad-Core processor (Z3740D); 2MB cache, up to 1.8 GHz
- 2 GB of RAM
- 32 GB of internal storage (64 GB optional); microSD expansion
- 802.11n Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0
- Office Home and Student 2013 Tablet Edition
- Integrated Intel HD graphics
- 5 MP rear camera; 1.2 MP front facing camera
- 18WHr battery (Rated for 10 hours)
- Thickness – 0.35” (9mm)
- Weight: 0.87 lbs (395g)
The Dell Venue 8 Pro feels solid. It’s not too heavy, relatively thin and easy to handle in one hand. The display is quite good, too. It has great viewing angles and suitable color rendition. For $199 or $249, it’s a really good deal. Check out our hands-on and impressions of the Venue 8 Pro for more details.
The deal works in-store only. The good news is that you can order it online and pick it up at the store. You can even choose to pay at the store if you want. Your tablet must be picked up within three calendar days. Once that time has expired, it will automatically be returned and your credit card will not be charged. Micro Center has 23 store locations in the U.S.
