One of Ubisoft's most-anticipated new titles is The Division 2, the sequel to the popular first game that launched back in 2016. The Division 2 is a third-person military shooter which tasks you with stopping malicious forces from seizing control of the government in the District of Columbia. It's unclear how the rest of the country is affected at this point, but we should find out soon enough.

Today, Ubisoft detailed a lot of new information about The Division 2's endgame. It seems like the title completely changes once you finish the campaign and presents new challenges. You can read a summary below.

  • Strongholds play an important role in the game, and are much more dangerous than missions. They'll play a major role in the endgame because they appear to be the ultimate challenge at the moment.
  • During the campaign you'll be working you way through a number of Strongholds, with the final one being unlocked when you hit Level 30.
  • Once the final Stronghold is completed, the world opens up and you can choose from a few different difficulty tiers. The Tidal Basin area is also unlocked and the "Black Tusks" faction invades.
  • Strongholds have to be cleared again, and they unlock new difficulty tiers which net better rewards.
  • Beating the final Stronghold in the Tidal Basin will allow you to access the ultimate Tier 5 difficulty level.

  • You're completely underpowered to take on the Black Tusks so you'll need to find better weapons.
  • The Black Tusks take over everything, so you'll need to clear fast travel locations again to regain the ability.
  • New vendors are revealed in the endgame.
  • Just like Assassin's Creed Odyssey mercenaries, there are 52 named bosses which you have to defeat.
  • You eventually unlock Bounties by playing at higher difficulties.

It's great to see that The Division 2 features a lot of content after the story concludes for now. Hopefully it will be a balanced experience which doens't require a lot of grinding.
