Final Fantasy XV picks up Holiday Pack DLC and New Game+ mode

If you're jonesing for some more Final Fantasy XV content after plowing through the story, then you're in luck. The Holiday Pack DLC is now available (opens in new tab) for Final Fantasy XV, bringing new content and items for everyone, along with some extras for season pass holders.

The Holiday Pack is a free add-on for everyone, while Holiday Pack + is only available to season pass holders and contains some more enticing items. Both packs contain a pass that gets you into a Moogle Chocobo Carnival that will take place in January. Here's a look at what you can expect from each pack:

Holiday Pack (Free)

  • Warrior's Fanfare – A scroll of sheet music containing a song of jubilation that provides additional AP for earning an A+ in Offense outside of training.
  • Nixperience Band – A device that stops experience points from being tallied, preventing the party from levelling up for an added challenge.
  • Carnival Passport – An adorably adorned ticket that whisks the bearer away to a fun-filled carnival for a limited time.
  • Choco-Mog Tee (available late January 2017) – An exclusive T-shirt featuring everyone's favourite fluffy and feathery friends. Colourful, comfy and appropriate for any carnival-goer.

Holiday Pack +

  • Ring of Resistance – A protective piece of jewelry that renders the entire party to be resistant to magical friendly fire.
  • Tech Turbocharger – A device for Noctis that accelerates the tech bar replenishment rate, but freezes the Armiger bar. A>- rmiger Accelerator – A device for Noctis that accelerates the Armiger bar replenishment rate, but freezes the tech bar.
  • Blitzer's Fanfare – A scroll of sheet music containing a song of jubilation that provides additional AP for earning an A+ in Time outside of training.
  • Tactician's Fanfare – A scroll of sheet music containing a song of jubilation that provides additional AP for earning an A+ in Finesse outside of training.
  • Key of Prosperity – A lucky charm that increases the rate at which fallen foes leave behind items of value.
  • Stamina Badge – A device that enables Noctis to sprint and hang without expending stamina.
  • Carnival Passport – An adorably adorned ticket that whisks the bearer away to a fun-filled carnival for a limited time.
  • Festive Ensemble (available late January) – A fancy and fun outfit perfectly suited for enjoying the festivities. The darling design puts all who see it in high spirits
  • Holiday Pack + Exclusive Photo Frames (available late January) – Additional themes the player can add to Prompto's photos when sharing over social media.

Holiday Pack Costumes

Lastly, on top of the new Holiday Pack DLC, a free update is available that adds a New Game+ mode for everyone. With New Game+, players who have completed the game can start over while retaining all of their items and experience from the previous save. This update also adds some special photo frames that you can add to Prompto's pictures before sharing them with others.

  • I've been reading that you lose the ultima blade if you start new game+. I'm here to say that might not be true. I still have mine in New game+. Though I also have the stock engine blade as well. My regalia did revert back to the non-flying vehicle. But all the other upgrades stayed.
  • Literally just started New Game +... Ultima Blade still there.
  • Hopefully the new costumes aren't for Noctics only. Show some love to the others.
