If you are a holder of the Business Platinum® Card from American Express, you can register to get $200 back every year on purchases you make at Dell. In order to register, go to this link, log in, and agree to the terms/conditions.
The fine print
There are a few things to remember when using the Dell benefit. First, you your credit split into two pieces - $100 back for purchases made in the first 6 months of the year and the other $100 for purchases made in the last 6 months of the year. So if you plan on making total purchases of at least $200 at Dell, try to break them up into at least two lump sums of at least $100 each, positioned in both halves of the year. Second, the purchases must be made with Dell or at dell.com, in the US or US territories, and shipped to the US. Otherwise, there are no restrictions as to what you buy at Dell to get your credit, which should post to your account within a month.
Best ways to use your credit
Your first thought might be that you'll need to buy a new laptop to get this credit, but there are actually a bunch of items you can get on the Dell website that you or your business could use. For example, perhaps you've always wanted a dual monitor setup or maybe you need extra batteries or backpacks. Headphones and speakers are also good options. And you can even buy the Amazon Echo Dot or Google Home Mini directly at Dell.
Additionally, make sure you check your Amex Offers to see if you have a targeted offer at Dell. Amex frequently posts 10% cash back for purchases at Dell, but sometimes even up to 20%. Stacking this offer on top of your credit could save you a lot of money!
Getting down to business
In addition to the Dell credit, new cardholders can earn up to 75,000 membership rewards points after spending $20,000 in the first three months of account opening.
While the Dell credit is a great benefit, it doesn't stop there with the Amex Platinum. You would get a whole variety of travel perks ranging from Centurion Lounge access to Global Entry fee credit. You'd also receive automatic status on hotel chains like Hilton and Marriott. So if you can make use of all these perks, the Amex Business Platinum is well worth it.
