Microsoft is pushing ahead with its launch of Surface Duo, the dual-screen Android foldable, marking yet another return to smartphones for the company. The device packs two screens in one with its 360-degree hinge, with multiple postures and optimized apps, geared toward improving productivity. The device has now returned following its 2019 unveiling, scheduled to arrive on September 10, starting at $1,399.

The Surface Duo first arrives in the U.S. with preorders opening on August 12 through the Microsoft Store, Best Buy, and AT&T. The device packs two ultra-thin 5.6-inch AMOLED displays hinged down the center, powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor, with 6GB RAM, and a choice of 128GB or 256GB onboard storage. There's also a single 11MP camera, doubling as both front- and rear-facing with the hinge, and support for inking using Surface Pens.

With the Microsoft Surface Duo weeks from release, we've received our first sizzle reel of the device. The latest trailer dives into its unique hardware qualities, alongside our first deep dive into Microsoft's refreshed spin on the Android OS. That includes new dual-screen-optimized apps, coupled with deep ties to your Windows PC.

Microsoft Surface Duo preorders are set to kick off August 12, exclusively in the U.S.
