Instagram will soon let you save live video replays to your Story

Instagram is giving a bit of a boost to two of its more popular features, Stories and live video, by bringing them together. Now, once you wrap up a live stream, you'll be able to save a replay of the video directly to your Story so others can view it for 24 hours.

It's not entirely surprising that Instagram would bring the two features together. Though the interactive nature of a live broadcast obviously isn't there in a replay, it's a handy thing to have should anything unexpected or interesting happen.

Instagram also announced today that Stories has now reached a whopping 250 million daily active users. That trumps Snapchat's most recently reported numbers, which came in at 166 million daily active users as of May. Considering Instagram Stories, which is essentially a clone of Snapchat's own Stories feature, only arrived on the scene in August 2016, that's some fairly rapid growth.

Instagram says that the live video replay feature is currently only rolling out to its mobile apps on Android and iOS. The company has been pretty good about keeping its Windows app updated, however, so the feature should make its way to Windows 10 PC and Mobile users soon.

  • I'll believe it when I see it
  • will they bring the "3D touch" or however it's called back?
  • Right, it's stupid that they never brought that back.
  • I rather like the Instagram app myself, and that it is still updated despite wm10 current State of play, so good for them I say !!!
  • I never considered IG live video before, because it was only live with no replay. That too much effort to not have something more people can see.
  • Oh if Facebook and messenger would work as great as Instagram does, or at least their counterparts on PC :(
  • If it would only load pics and videos instead of blank pages.
  • This
  • in current version of Instagram,i can't upload pic from my gallery. whenever i try to pick medias from gallery, Instagram crash. I tried re-installing also but nothing happen. fix it ASAP
  • Start with a smaller pictures folder, i know mine is super slow due to thousands of pics on my sd
  • I've not so much pictures.. whenever i click + button or in story from 24 hrs...ig crash..i can't even choose pic for changing profile pic.. all on my 950xl
  • Strange, are your photos on sd? Change your storage to internal if it's currently on sd? Fyi, my 950xl on sd storage is working ok, just very slow to bring up the camera roll
  • it's on internal storage
  • Sorry, nothing else to say to help :( other than the annoying uninstall reinstall or reset
  • i did it already, but nothing happen 😂
  • We don't have AR effects yet ☹
  • Have you guys noticed that ig for win phone doesn't have live video like for win phone but we can watch others and the Snapchat face effect we still don't have those as well. It's just a let down😑
  • Not true. I do a live show two days a week.
You're correct about face effects.. Me personally, have no use for them
  • They should update Facebook to be universal app and have the Live stream option....
