Microsoft's colorful Surface Mobile Mouse now on preorder for $34.99
Snag a matching mouse for your Surface.

Microsoft new budget tablet, the Surface Go, is garnering all of the attention this week, but the company also launched a refreshed line of Surface mice that have flown a bit under the radar. An updated take on the Designer Bluetooth mouse series, the mice are now available to preorder in three colors for $34.99 (opens in new tab).
Like the Designer mouse, the new Surface Mobile Mouse features a sleek, low-profile design that should be fairly portable. The mouse connects over Bluetooth and is available in three colors to match your Surface Type Cover: burgundy, platinum, or cobalt blue.
Speaking of Type Covers, a fresh selection of covers built for the Surface Go are now up for preorder alongside the tablet as well. The same color options as the mice are up for grabs at $129.99 (opens in new tab) with the Surface line's signature Alcantara fabric. Alternatively, you can pick up a standard black keyboard without Alcantara for $99.99.
Both accessories and the Surface Go itself are up for preorder now at the Microsoft Store.

Looking forward to some reviews on this. I love the trackpad on my Surface Book, but I wouldn't mind picking up a mouse for when i'm on doing more mouse intensive work on the road. The other Surface mouses are pretty big for travel, and the Arc mouse isn't my thing.

I wonder why they didn't make these rechargeable with USB-C. Is that too much to ask for?

I'll take 12 months of battery life over a rechargeable battery every time.

Agreed !
And if somehow you're "surprised" by empty batteries, you just need a few seconds to change it, and won't have to wait for like an hour... Plus that's something MS is consistent about, think about Xbox gamepads -
Weird shape.. I think mouse evolution is going backwards 😄

Non-ergonomic...

Only if you're buying designer mice, like these.

I really hope they release the Surface Precision Mouse in burgundy... would love to match that to my Pro.
