New Surface Laptop firmware update improves battery stability

Surface Laptop Windows Update

If you're using a Surface Laptop, a fresh firmware update is waiting for you. Microsoft has rolled out a small update that brings improvements to the Surface Laptop's battery stability.

Here's a look at the official release notes, taken from Microsoft's Surface Update History (opens in new tab):

  • Surface System Aggregator Firmware - 135.2114.3.0 improves battery stability.

This is the first firmware update to roll out to Surface Laptop since January 10, when Microsoft issued patches for Spectre and Meltdown across its Surface lineup.

If you've noticed any battery-related issues with your Surface Laptop, this latest firmware update may iron them out. The update itself is labeled with a release of February 28 and it should be available to download now via Windows Update. Alternatively, you can download the firmware manually from Microsoft.
