Microsoft's new Surface Go may be the hot item right now, but the company is making its much more powerful Surface Book 2 a little more tempting with a range of discounts. Right now, the Microsoft Store is discounting the powerhouse laptop by up to $300, significantly lowering the barrier to entry – particularly at the high end (via Neowin).
At the very bottom, you're looking at a $200 drop in price on the 13-inch model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, bringing it down to $1,299. From there, it's a $300 discount across the board, including the maxed-out 15-inch model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage at $2,999. Here's a look at the lineup, along with their discounted prices.
- 13.5-inch w/ Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage - $1,299
- 13.5-inch w/ Core i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage - $1,699
- 13.5-inch w/ Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage - $2,199
- 13.5-inch w/ Core i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage - $2,699
- 15-inch w/ Core i7, 16GB RAM, 256GB storage - $2,199
- 15-inch w/ Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage - $2,599
- 15-inch w/ Core i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage - $2,999
The biggest difference between models to keep in mind here, besides RAM and storage capacities, is that the Core i7 models all come with discrete graphics on board. For the 13-inch models, that includes an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, while the 15-inch models pack a GeForce GTX 1060.
All of these discounts are available now on the Microsoft Store. If you prefer going with Amazon or Best Buy, both retailers have similar discounts of their own, but with a more limited range of models.
