Shenmue III becomes an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC

What you need to know

  • Shenmue III is a hotly-anticipated third-person action game.
  • It's expected to launch in November.
  • The title will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC.

When Shenmue III was announced, fans rejoiced that it was coming to PC. Since then, we haven't heard much about the title, and it was unclear where gamers could preorder the game. Well, it seems like Epic Games has swooped in and made that decision for us. According to a post on the game's Kickstarter page, the game is now an Epic Games Store exclusive. This will come as a shock to many because there were leaked pages which pointed to a Steam release. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know.

Shenmue III has been in development for quite some time, and the game keeps on getting delayed. It was supposed to launch in August 2019, but has now been pushed back to November. The game continues the story of revenge and supernatural forces. This time around it looks like there's a greater focus on the relationship between the characters. It also seems like Ryo Hazuki is going to be able to take on Lan Di after all this time. Hopefully Shenmue III will be a polished experience when it launches next year. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more about the game. However, don't expect it to be the definitive, concluding chapter in the saga. Yu Suzuki plans on making more Shenmue games down the line.
