Stellaris is an evolution of the grand strategy genre with space exploration at its core. It features complex gameplay, a diverse selection of aliens, and emergent storytelling like many modern titles. According to publisher Paradox Interactive, Stellaris contains "engaging moments that reward interstellar exploration" as you traverse, discover, interact, and learn more about the characters you encounter during your travels.
There are a lot of mechanics to master here, so be prepared for a somewhat steep learning curve when you first dive in. It takes some time to get familiar with them, but it's quite satisfying once you do. Recently, Stellaris launched on Xbox One as "Stellaris: Console Edition." Unfortunately, it lacked a lot of the content which is available on PC. Luckily, that's about to change very soon.
Today, Paradox released an image of the upcoming expansions for Xbox One. Plantoids should launch on March 26, Leviathans should launch on April 16, Multiplayer should come to the console in May, and Utopia is scheduled for the summer. It's unclear if these will be free or cost a pretty penny. We'll keep you posted, but they'll most likely be separate purchases.
In our review, we said, "Stellaris is a personal favorite, and it's great to see it make the leap to Xbox One, but Paradox and its partners could really seal the deal by bringing across mouse support, which the Xbox One now has. Hopefully we'll see it materialize down the line, but for now, the gamepad controls are pretty great as is."
So much awesomeness
