Deal alert: Get any major Windows Phone 8 device for $30 on Rogers

Canada is the land of moose, hockey, and maple syrup. You can now add crazy low prices for select Windows Phone 8 devices on mobile carrier Roger. We just got an email from a rep letting us know that right now you can pick up an HTC 8X, Lumia 920, or Ativ S at some crazy low prices.

Yellow Lumia 920 now available on Rogers for $50

The Lumia 920 has been added to the catalogue of Windows Phones available at Canadian mobile operator Rogers. The unique colour is one of the rare variants, along with the grey and red versions. Priced at the same points as other Lumia 920s listed on the company's website, the $49.99 on a 3-year contract isn't a bad deal (though it is for anyone who's used to 1-year and 2-year plans).

Rogers finally offers the Lumia 920 in more than Black, gets Red and White options too

While Rogers still doesn’t have the coveted glossy Yellow Lumia 920 (probably for the best, since they probably couldn’t actually stock it), you can at least take solace in the fact that you can now order the Nokia Lumia 920 in Glossy White or fire engine Red—two very popular colors.

No rest in sight as Nokia launches Lumia 620 in Spain, Turkey and Canada

Nokia appears keen on getting the seemingly popular and new to the crowd Lumia 620 into people’s hands. The phone has previously launched in Russia, Thailand, India (available soon), Germany (pre-order) UAE (AED 899) and China.

Now we’ve learned of three more places launching the super colorful and affordable Windows Phone 8 device: Spain, Turkey and it’s even coming to Canada.

Rogers expanding Lumia 920 selection with more colours

Canadian mobile operator Rogers has announced on its official blog plans to bring in more Lumia 920 stock, with a stronger selection of colours for consumers. Taking feedback into account, the team reports that the network will offer the Windows Phone in red, white and yellow. As well as this, there's also a small contest where you could win one of the new Lumia 920s.

Rogers argues it was the first network to launch a Windows Phone 8 smartphone. That may be the case, but we've certainly no forgotten just how difficult it was to physically locate one for purchase. The Mobile Nations team raided a number of stores across the country, until eventually we managed to snatch one.

Rogers reportedly pushing out Windows Phone Portico update for HTC 8X

No surprises here as 1PM ET rolls by reports of more Windows Phone “Portico” updates have begun to come in. This time, it’s for the lucky owners of the HTC 8X on Rogers who are reportedly now getting the combo OS and firmware update.

Rogers is offering some serious deals on Windows Phone 8

Canadian carrier Rogers, who announced their strong support of Windows Phone 8 back in October, is offering some sweet deals on their entire lineup of Windows devices. And what an impressive lineup it is. Right now, customers who sign up for a Rogers 3-year FLEXtab plan will be able to choose one of the following Windows Phone 8 handsets:

The Nokia Lumia 920 is being offered exclusively by Rogers in Canada. And while that and the HTC 8X are available now, the elusive Samsung ATIV S is listed as "coming soon." For those interested in Windows Phone 7 or Windows 8 RT devices, the sale also includes deals on the Nokia Lumia 900 and Samsung ATIV Smart PC.

If you live in Canada and you've been waiting on moving to WP8, it looks like now is a great time to do it.

Samsung ATIV S also delayed for Canada, where is the first Windows Phone 8 device?

The Samsung ATIV S was the first Windows Phone 8 smartphone to be announced, and was unveiled earlier this year at IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany. Unfortunately it seems the device is set to be the last Windows Phone to arrive, even after the Nokia Lumia 820 and HTC 8S. So what's going on with Samsung's latest Windows Phone?

Unlocked Nokia Lumia 920 coming soon but no T-Mobile bands just yet

Up in Canada there has been some confusion around the status of the Nokia Lumia 920 on Rogers. It appears that early shipments of the phone were SIM unlocked and what’s more, they had the AWS 1700 band on board allowing it to work on WIND and T-Mobile US. That prospect at least offered some hope to those on those carriers without the 920 (aka most of them).

We’ve since verified that the later shipments of the 920 on Rogers are not SIM unlocked though you could pay the Canadian carrier $50 to do so (assuming you bought it under contract). As terrible as that is it’s still better than AT&T, which to our knowledge has not given out any unlock codes for 920 users.

ATIV S Windows Phone priced at Rogers, to be available from $149

Rogers has unveiled pricing for its Samsung ATIV S, according to images sent in to MobileSyrup. The Canadian carrier announced the ATIV S last month, and now it's been confirmed to be priced at $149.99 on a 3-year plan. The Windows Phone is also listed at $599.99 month-to-month.

Best Buy offering Lumia 920 for free on Rogers through Black Friday

We've had a Best Buy advertisement sent in showing off the Lumia 920 on Rogers with an extra saving of $100 for the duration of Black Friday. Should you be looking to pick up a Lumia 920 on Rogers, you can now own one for free (when taken out with an eligible contract) after established savings have been applied to the purchase.

Rogers Samsung ATIV S listed on Future Shop

Despite being one of the first Windows Phone 8 devices we saw unveiled the ATIV S has still managed to arrive the late to the Windows Phone 8 launch line up.

The device has plenty of people interested in its 4.8” AMOLED screen, slender body and expandable base memory but where can one be ordered from? Future Shop seem like they might be able to offer some help to lucky Canadians who don’t mind signing up for a three year contract to nab a device for $50.

Rogers set to get Nokia Lumia 920 in yellow too?

Rogers has earned themselves some angst from potential customers who want to pick up the new Nokia Lumia 920.  Between making unofficial/official announcements of selling the device (even boldly proclaiming to be the “first” like a child on the internet), they so far have failed to deliver. Stock is barely existent and when it can be found, customers get one choice of color: matte black. That’s especially bad since we all know the 920 comes in many more options.

A closer look at the Samsung ATIV S with Windows Phone 8

We've been so busy around here that we forgot our own Mobile Nations roving reporter Simon Sage managed to get some one on one time with the Samsung ATIV S (see our camera samples from earlier). The ATIV S is headed to Rogers in Canada, among a few other lucky networks (no such luck here in the States, at least so far).

The video is fun to watch only because you can get to peep how big that 4.8" screen is and how great it looks in AMOLED. Throw in that super thin body, a massive 2300 mAh battery, 32GB of storage, memory expansion and yeah, we're wanting to play with one. It's also interesting to note that you can turn the phone on via the physical Win key--the only Windows Phone 8 device with such a configuration--kudos to Sammy for that one. Too bad we can't think of a way for Nokia or HTC to do the same and keep their slick designs. Can't have it all!

Other than that most of the video is just a tour of Windows Phone 8, which many of you should be familiar with by now.

Rogers now lists the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC 8X for online order

The other day we posted the about how Rogers in Canada was finally getting ready to sell their Windows Phone 8 devices Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC 8X. The date was rumored to be November 12th but the announcement was quickly pulled. But thankfully that date appears to be back on...

The Lumia 920 has a very soft launch a few weeks ago with a few stores getting even fewer of the phones. But this finally looks to be the "full launch" and the fact that you can go to the Rogers site and buy either phone is testament to that fact.

Microsoft Canada post announces Nokia 920 and HTC 8X coming to Rogers November 12, then gets pulled

After being avaialble for reservation since mid-October,  Facebook post by Microsoft Canada has revealed that Canadian carrier Rogers will be getting the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC 8X on November 12.

The Lumia 920, which is a Rogers' exclusive, will fetch $99.99 with a three-year contract and $549.99 on a month-to-month plan. The HTC 8X's pricing, both for the 8GB and 16GB versions, has not been annouced yet. Also absent from the Microsoft post was any mention of Samsung's ATIV S, which was announced alongside the 920 and 8X back in October.

Lumia 920 from Rogers reportedly carrier unlocked, works on WIND and T-Mobile US

We previously looked at the news of an unlocked Lumia 920 working on the T-Mobile US network, but now reports are being published at XDA and beyond that Lumia 920 Windows Phones being sold by Canada carrier Rogers are all carrier unlocked--that's pretty big news, but also it has seemingly been confirmed that it has pentaband support.

Rogers announce they are preferred carrier for Windows Phone 8, launches Lumia 920 tomorrow

Rogers has unveiled in a portion of its media event in Canada today that it's the preferred carrier in the country for Windows Phone 8, which is a claim we can certainly believe with the arsenal of handsets it's taking through to 2013. It's also set to be the first carrier in the world to sport the Lumia 920.

The three OEMs down together

Rogers has pledged strong support for Windows Phone 8 through the announcement of both exclusivities and hardware that makes use of Microsoft's latest mobile system. This mirrors the strong carrier support we've seen so far here in the UK. We managed to get some hands-on action with said devices, so be sure to pop on past the break for all the photos.

Rogers reveals Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 excitement through exclusivities and carrier apps

Rogers has published a blog post detailing what hardware the carrier will be sporting from Microsoft for both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, as well as any exclusivities Rogers will hold on said devices. We're already aware of which Windows Phones the carrier will be taking, but the blog post also touches on carrier apps that will be pre-loaded.
