There certainly was no shortage of flashy new devices at IFA 2018. From ASUS and Acer to Dell and Lenovo, plenty of new and refreshed laptops took center stage over the course of the Berlin trade show. But, for us, some stood out from the pack more than others. Here's a look at our top five picks from IFA 2018.

Best of IFA No. 5 – Acer Predator Triton 900

Acer Predator Triton 900

Acer's Predator Triton 900 gaming laptop packs a crazy convertible hinge

Acer is certainly looking to make a lasting impression with its latest gaming laptop. At first glance, the new Predator Triton 900 looks like your standard, chunky gaming laptop. But it's hiding a pretty unique feature not found in others of its ilk: a convertible display.

Acer is mum on specs for right now, and there's no release window or price right now. But the display's rotating hinge and Acer's Aeroblade cooling tech certainly make it stand out from the pack.

Best of IFA No. 4 – ASUS ZenBook series

ZenBook 14

With the latest refresh of its signature ZenBook line, ASUS has gone for slim bezels and packed plenty of inside. Coming in 13-inch, 14-inch, and 15-inch variants, the line now packs a 95-percent screen-to-body ratio, along with Intel's latest 8th Gen Core CPUs and up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q graphics.

The new ZenBooks are expected to launch in Q4 with pricing and availability to be announced at a later date.

Best of IFA No. 3 – Lenovo Yoga C930

Lenovo Yoga C930

Taking the number three spot is Lenovo's new Yoga C930. Gone is the watch-band hinge present on previous models. In its place is a rotating soundbar hinge that sports Dolby Atmos, blasting you with plenty of sound no matter the device's orientation.

Add to that Dolby Vision HDR in both HD and 4K options, an included pen garaged in the body, along with Intel's 8th Gen Core i5 and i7 processors, and there's plenty to like here.

The Lenovo Yoga C930 is expected to go on sale in October starting at $1,099.

Best of IFA No. 2 – Lenovo Yoga Book C930 (Yoga Book 2)

For 2018, Lenovo is redoing the Yoga Book, making the insides match the outside. While it comes at a higher starting price, it finally appears to deliver in performance.

While Lenovo has stepped things up on the power front, moving from an Intel Atom chip on the original Yoga Book to a full Intel Core i5 Y-series chip on the C930, it has also boosted its display tech as well with a 10.8-inch 2560x1600 panel with Wacom pen support.

The real magic, though, is the lower 10.8-inch full HD E Ink display that also doubles as a keyboard or notepad. That keyboard can change between keyboard layouts on the fly to accommodate different regions and languages.

The Lenovo Yoga Book C930 is expected to go on sale in October at a price of $999.

Best of IFA No. 1 – Lenovo Yoga C630 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 850

Lenovo Yoga C630

Leading our picks is the Lenovo Yoga C630, which is the first laptop to sport Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 850 processor.

As Windows 10 on ARM devices go, the Yoga C630 doesn't veer too far off from what we've seen before. However, it will offer a model with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 850 also brings a significant performance boost over the previous 835 chip, and Lenovo is estimating up to 25 hours of battery life.

The Lenovo Yoga C630 with Snapdragon is expected to launch in November for $850.
