'Windows 10 November 2019 Update' is official, being prepped for release
By Sean Endicott published
The Windows 10 19H2 Update is almost here, and it has an official name from Microsoft.

What you need to know
- The Windows 10 19H2 Update will officially be called the Windows 10 November 2019 Update.
- Microsoft is in the final stages of prepping the Windows 10 November 2019 Update for release.
- Windows 10 Build 18363.418 is believed to be the final build.
The Windows 10 19H2 Update will officially be known as the Windows 10 November 2019 Update. Microsoft shared the name in a new blog post and explained that the update is in its final steps before an official release.
The naming is not that surprising considering when the Update is being released. In the past, Microsoft used a naming structured that relied on seasons such as the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update but switched to a format with a month in the name to reduce confusion in a previous update.
People at Microsoft believe that Windows 10 build 18363.418 is the final build. This build is already available to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Ring.
Windows 10 19H2: What is it, and what's included?
The November 2019 Update is different than Microsoft's usual major updates. Instead of requiring a large download and being delivered through a standalone release, the November 2019 Update will be delivered just like a normal Patch Tuesday release. The November 2019 Update doesn't have as many new features as previous major updates. Instead, it focuses on fixing bugs, improving performance, and introducing minor new features.

Any word if edge with chromium is going to drop with it?
-
More likely to come early next year during 20H1 release.
Currently if you install new edge on 20H1 builds than the
old edge will be hidden. -
It's still in beta, so no.
-
There's no dramatic changes under the hood.
Even when I was testing it in the slow ring performance never change between 1903.
But it's understandable if you're jaded. -
I guess Microsoft had learned its lessons. There is really no need for them to ship it before the release of Duo. Maybe just before that so that some public testing is done before shipping an Android, and hence Chromium-required, engine with it.
-
It has nothing to do with Duo. They've already had Edge on Android for a long time.
-
And what about the new Cortana app, which I downloaded and installed ages ago (on RP) but isn't doing anything...
-
Soo... Will this also be available to my Surface Book 2 with iGPU?
Windows Update still won't let me update past 1809 to like 1903 because of the GPU crashing Bug in it. -
Supposedly a new firmware update for surface book 2?
-
yes
Surface – System – 1.75.139.0
Surface – Firmware – 182.1004.139.0
Surface – Firmware – 389.2837.768.0 -
No surprise in the name, but I guess this naming convention works
-
I am wondering if it will be the Windows 10 November 2019 Update will already be pre-installed on all the new Microsoft Surface 2019 line-up , especially Surface Laptop 3, Surface Pro 7 and Surface Pro X ?
-
Don't think so. I'm sure you'll need to update.
-
Curious about the battery life/performance improvements. That's all I really care about in future Windows 10 updates, anyways...getting more out of my existing hardware.
