Windows 10 Mobile preview build 10586 now available for Fast Ring Windows Insiders

Microsoft has just released a new preview version of Windows 10 Mobile, with the build number 10586 , to the members of the Windows Insider Program who have signed up to get updates in the Fast ring. This build is the current one shipping on the new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL as well making it rather polished.

What's Fixed

  • We have fixed the issue that caused the Start experience to become corrupted (garbled) after upgrading and restoring a backup from a phone that had a different resolution.
  • You should now be able to set your default save locations via Settings > System > Storage and it will correctly reflect the current storage settings. Your SD card should no longer show up as a garbled name in Storage settings either.
  • Moving apps to a SD card should no longer cause those apps to crash.
  • We've made improvements to the Messaging + Skype app – through both app updates via the Store and also on the server side.
  • This should be seeing less resuming/loading text when switching apps.
  • The physical camera button should be working again if it wasn't working for you before.
  • Apps and games should download from the Store more reliably.

Known issues

  • After we released Build 10581 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring, we discovered a bug in the build that will cause the filesystem to become partially corrupted after doing a factory reset. For those of you who did a factory reset of your phone, you most likely did not notice this issue on Build 10581. Due to this bug however, upgrading to Build 10586 will cause your phone to go into a reboot loop after the upgrade completes – rebooting at the Windows or operator logo. To recover your phone, you can use the hardware key combination to reset your phone which will then put it at the OOBE experience on Build 10586. We highly recommend that you make sure you do a backup your phone before upgrading to Build 10586 due to this bug. Additionally, you can also recover your phone by using the Windows Device Recovery Tool to go back to Windows Phone 8.1 and then upgrade to Build 10586.
  • Deploying Silverlight apps through Visual Studio to your phone still won't work in this build. This issue will be fixed with the release of Visual Studio 2015 Update 1 on Nov. 30th. You can deploy UWP apps to your phone without any issues.
  • There is a known issue where the tile for Insider Hub still remains under All apps but doesn't open. Insider Hub isn't included in this build. There isn't a way to get it back unfortunately. However, it'll return in a future flight! In the meantime, use Insider Hub on the PC as a workaround.

  • Whoooo
  • The first part of known issues gets my attention... I'm not rushing this time.. :-/
  • My thoughts exactly.
  • I can't remember if I did a hard reset.... Now I'm just sitting here, thinking about it...
  • would you have done a hard reset anyway? if thats the case, then the biggest deal about that bug is losing data, go for it!
  • If you did not do restart you be fine. And if you did you can go back 8.1 than update to 10586
  • I had not done a hard reset , so it went pretty well, i'd say you stick to the 10581, i ve seen more crashes on messaging app and store in 24 hours than i had with 10581 since install
  • YES .......... nothing seems improved
  • Seriously... i'm having the same problem.. Messaging app crashes a lot and says "resuming.." a lot and sometimes i don't get a notification for texts.
  • Just installed Messaging &Skype app update... Seems to have resolved the crashing issue.
  • Thats why i am no longer an insider, i rather play it safe
  • Any thing new in this build?
  • Version number... :D
Why don't you spend some time reading the article first.. ;)
  • I have no time, (exams):D
  • Still you are on WC ... All the best for exams :p
  • Thanks :)
  • Yet you have time to comment here and then read the reply? Does not compute.
  • also has time to run a beta phone OS when the goal is to provide feedback to make it better. I bet the phrase "i have an unreleased version" is said.
  • is lumia 620 eligible for this preview
  • I guess not.
  • Yes, it is
  • Yas U Need to downlod windows insider app to Windows store and sign in and chose fast ring and restart phone then chek for update and downlod and install
  • I read it and the question is perfectly valid, unless all that is new is screw-ups fixed and screw-ups created.
  • Just fix
  • no major known bugs yet! woohoo. lets see how it works. wonder if the store download fix will make apps download quick and not take 100 years.
  • No major bugs LISTED, you mean.... :)
  • Probably there's no 'major bugs'. Some bugs of course.
  • Does ayone know if you can assign custom text notifications yet? It's a big deal to me because I don't have time to answer every text while at work, certain messages must take priority. I have a Lumia Icon.
  • YAAAY! :D LET'S PARTY! Downloading!
  • So is this the build that's shipping on the 950/950XL? AKA the actual release build of W10 Mobile? Update: Missed the first paragraph that answered this :).
  • There is no "actual release" since it's a service but this should be the Build the public sees.
  • Im surprised they didnt realise it to slow ring gving that it is preinstalled on a retail device ???
  • Because the build is optimized for those devices, shipped with specific firmware, etc...
  • yes
  • My Lumia 959 that arrived 2 hours ago has this build
  • excuse me but u mean 950 or i miss a device there???
  • That's the Verizon version
  •  Did mean 950. Hit a pump in the road (in the passenger seat) and missed the 0.
  • Was it a bicycle tire pump or a gasoline pump? The difference could be rather stark.
  • Darn... You beat me to it.
  • i guess he is still getting used to the keyboard :'D
  • I'm curious, how well does 'Windows hello' work on the Lumia 950. I'm getting mine in a few days and was wondering
  • It works pretty good. Just need to put the phone closer to your face than I thought, other than that it works fast.
  • Thanks, nice to know. Fast enough for everyday, every-time-i-wanna-unlock-my-phone use? Last question. Does "double tap" to wake still (also) work on the 950? If so, we double tap then scan face? Nice :-)
  • At least on the Lumia 640, double-tap to wake the screen is still completely gone, whereas it was there on 8.1.
  • It does work on my Lumia 640 @build 10586
  • From what I can tell, there is no double tap to wake, unless it's just not on by default. As far as speed goes, it unlocks the phone in under 2 seconds.
  • Yes, it was mentioned in the first paragraph.
  • Whoops :).
  • Finally!!!! Update all the things.. Lol
  • yesssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my lumia 920 was born ready
  • Finally!
  • Going to try this on my 520, and if all good, 1020.
  • Likewise. My L625, followed by my L830.
"known issues" - two words that make me hesitate to put it on my daily driver.
  • downloading now
  • Is this RTM???
  • RTM should be ejected from your vocabulary as it has no meaning any longer. This is the shipping version as we noted in the article.
  • Should I be concerned about the first known issue mentioned in the article?..
  • Awesome reply. You sir made my day, lol.
  • But it's not yet available for download on windows phone 8.1 without using the Windows Insider app yet, right?
  • Correct, it is still an insider release. (i.e. Carriers haven't approved it yet, assuming that they even will.)
  • Nope... that's gonna take sometime...probably will roll out with firmware updates which might take a while...
  • Ok. so we now have confirmation that it is shipping without the quiet hours while busy in calendar that was in 8.1. Yay for microsoft, always keeping up with the competition!
  • Hey Daniel, you stated in your previous article on Build 10581 that you were unable to train Hey Cortana.  I'm still unable to do so on Build 10586.11.  Are you still having this issue as well?  If not, how did you fix?  Thanks.  NOLATechy.
  • but where to find Hey cortana in 10586. i have installed in L730. Not getting hey Cortana anywhere.
  • So if I've never gone on the insider program before I should be very unlikely to get into the restart loop right
  • is gonna work graet..if u see a black screen give it some time
  • I'm stuck on a black screen with just the Nokia logo  should I wait? A hard reset didnt help it either
  • Stil no RTM, but I am sure one small update like on desktop and they will make it happen soon.
  • What do you even mean by "no RTM"? This version is shipping on the Lumia 950 and XL. RTM no longer has a meaning, so I'm not sure what you are expecting.
  • I get what you're saying but to some this is RTM as in its the release to manufacturers. In this particular case, the new 950 devices. To me, (and I assume you as well) this is the first build to be publicly released indicating it is more stable than past builds.
  • But I wouldn't be at all surprised if this build never gets released to the public to upgrade WP8.1 devices. (Since that is at least a month away from what we have heard.)
  • I'm not so sure. I don't expect MS would send his flagship to customers with these "known issues" :)
  • Well the 950 & 950XL users do not have to worry about the first listed known issue as they will be starting from scratch. The other two known issues will not affect most users either as primarily developers will be the ones sending Silverlight apps to their devices for testing and the Hub likely does not show up in the first place for people to realize it disappeared, or is there but not working etc.
  • Hi Daniel, I was wondering if you can clarify this RTM matter - I assume those who mention RTM actually mean the OS release with firmware - like Denim earlier. Are we expected to see separate firmware release with Windows 10 Mobile, or will it just be OS updates?
  • The first of the known issues seems scary, anyone ran into this problem yet? Hesitating to do this update because of that... Edit: Nvm, just updated without any issue. Well done MS
  • You can roll back 8.1 than update
  • You don't have to roll back, if it gets stuck in a boot loop, do a hardreset as the article states. No need to rollback if you don't want to. I reset my 830 yesterday on 10581 so my phone will probably get the reboot loop. I am not going to wast time with another OS install, I'll just reset the phone after getting to 10586. It takes far longer to download 8.1, roll back, update to 10586 than to simply update to 10586 and reset the phone.
  • No Exclamation mark is coming to hard reset... I followed that article (Lumia 830)
  • Update : This worked for me ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgnXqSNF_K0
  • What lighting is that guy using? It makes him look jaudiced! Initially I thought he had yellow washing up gloves on
  • Hard reset didn't either work for me. Is there something else to do after you see the exclamation? Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • So true. And I'm going to want to do a reset for a nice clean install anyway, so... yeah. That's the ticket.
  • What are the key sequence for HW reset on lumia?
  •   1.hold power button till vibrate  2. vol down till ! 3.vol up  4 vol down 5.power botton  6. vol down
  • Same...
  • i got you man
  • I literally backed up 5 minutes before Gabe's release announcement. Downloading now...at 65% in seemingly no time!
  • Honestly, the quality of this build is going to what's going to be what determines me going and getting an iPhone 6s after being with Windows Phone since WM5. 10 mobile (unlike 10 for PC which I think is phenomenal) is just not up to snuff I don't think. Look at simple tasks like deleting a photo... takes forever. Apps constantly crash for no reason. The people who have their 950's in the forums don't seem super impressed with it, which is disheartening. I think this might be the end for me :( My wife just got the 6s after being with WP since v7. Neither of us like iOS but... it works and it has apps. And sadly, the Microsoft apps are generally better on iOS I've found. Anyways, let the down-voting commence.
  • Seriously dude, just make the move, the reasons for staying seem pretty flimsy honestly... =[
  • I've been using W10M for a few months.. its not the problem anymore. Your attitude towards it is. You said it yourself, you don't like iOS. I know people who have iPhones who complain about the bugs. The solution is simple: be happy with what you have. W10M is an amazing OS, and it works. Its not as bad as people make it sound, it just takes a positive look to see that instead of constant negativity.
  • I've been on the preview for a long time (I'm a WP app dev). I wanted to love it because I do love 10 on my PC and Surface Pro 3. My screen flickers on and off, phone crashes and reboots at least once a day (i do hard resets after reboots, which according to the release today is now going to cause even more problems since I did that.) I tried to convice myself I liked it, but it's just not ready.
  • Sorry you've had a tough time, but for the record, I've had none of those problems with my (soon to be retired) 920.
  • Since the last build I've had no issues what so ever, it doesn't crash on my 1520 and it runs smoothly. Previous builds were buggy and awful but that's the whole point in signing up for a beta programme.
  • As the others - never experienced such issues - so, sorry to hear you have. Presumably you've done hard resets and rolled back? Could be a handset issue - if you're anything like me yours is probably getting pretty dated by now?
  • Yeah, I've done a reset after each build. I'm on the 830 because my 920 met its demise :( So it should be new enough. As a dev this concerns me. First impressions are all that matters. If people upgrade their device to this OS and experience such silly problems, they won't hang around for long.
  • ".... because my 920 met its demise"
That's actually my way of politely saying "the ¥@¥#ing phone pissed me off and in a blinding fit of rage I thrashed it"
  • just switch my friend! there is no point in debating with people here in comments .. so if u dont like W10M, just switch for God Sake!
  • lol, you're a Dev and still complaining for a beta OS, you shud really switch, 10581 was perfect on my lumia 1520, never rebooted even once on its on, close to no crashes,.. hoping to have better experience with 10586, its been only 15 hours since i have it installed, didnt do a hard reset as i was so amazed with 10581's performance that i installed important apps etc that i dont want to start over with.
  • I would defer this decision till this gets an official release since that would come packaged with the required firmware.
  • Hey, we are in a democracy last time I checked so.  No harm if you decide to go iOS or Android.  I myself have 3 - WP, iOS and Android but I prefer WP.
  • Just do the switch. I did. Been with Windows phone since 7 but just couldn't take it anymore with everything that's been going with win 10m, so I got the moto x. It's worth it. So much better than
10 IMHO. Not trolling just telling my experience. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Of coarse it's your right to switch to another OS any time you want, BUT just to remind you: Windows 10 Mobile is not yet finished. These are Insider Previews - which I guess you actually know, since you are a developper for this platform. It is nothing abnormal that these Insider Previews are buggy and not ready yet for the public. Who am I to tell you not to switch yet. I don't have any right to. I just wanted to remind you, that you have not yet used a final version of Windows 10 Mobile. Before I switched to Windows Phone very recently, I used iOS myself and I have been very happy with it. So switching to iOS is surely not a bad decision. :)
  • Recall you are in the beta test program for the operating system.  Personally I am rebooting my phone less and less, meaning it is more and more stable (honestlly I reboot it more than I really need to).  Recent releases have had fewer front end bells and whistles as they are updates under the hood for stability.  If you had your choice, would you prefer MS development spend it's time on bells and whistles or stability?  There is a limited set of time and money so they can only focus on so many things.   Not sure why iPhone is your OS of choice if complaints of bugs is the bar to pass, as Android is an option as well (heck Blackberry is even an option).  Apps crashing isn't really a MS problem - crap developers that created your app are probaby more to blame than Microsoft.  while (fork() == fork())    ( fork(); ) I can call it a super cool game name, like Piggy Boink!, with a cute picture and you will download it all day long.  However it will probably kill your phone very quickly.  (My guess is that statement means little to you, my point being something simple can crash a phone)   Essentially, don't always blame the OS for your crash.
  • Where Samsung ativ support?
  • I was hoping for a change in the search UI. I believe the Win8.1 version was better, cleaner and faster.
  • I agree. In my experience Cortana was way faster on 8.1.
  • she also was exclusive to the phone then, now she is taking on the rest of the Windows population...cut her some slack, it's not Halo levels yet bro. =\
  • Its not the search execution as much as the user experience and UI there. General slugishness that I don't believe is server side.
  • Agreed, a lot about 8.1 was faster... and worked more reliable... but W10M is a much better interface and settings... it's all been said before I know
  • Since they are talking about "a future build" will this not be RTM? And if so, why are the L950 devices shipping with this?
  • There is no RTM ... Gowwdd... Now Daniel has to write another article regarding the same.. :D
  • The fact that there will be future updates doesn't mean this is not the Release To Manufacturers build, so RTM still stands
  • See Daniel's replies above. RTM doesn't exist anymore, this is the build shipping with the new Lumia's. Future build is just updates which will continually come out
  • You a first timer here? Jesus. There is no RTM... Think Windows as a service. Think differently. Grab your ears and pull your head out of your..
  • Upgrade phones might get shipped a newer build when it officially arrives. This build might be "rtm" for 950 but not necessarily for devices getting updated from 8.1
  • Downloading now!  After 5 minutes still at 0%.... Lots of folks hitting the fast ring I'm sure.
  • The fast ring is not that fast...
  • Downloading L1020
  • Hey! Did your Lumia Camera App remain in your app list? And is it still usable?
  • The fast ring has nothing to do with your internet speed, LOL, it took me 10 mins to download the update and abt 20 mins to install, which was very quick :P
  • Yay!
  • Not available in the UK yet (22.16). Edit: *Remembers to sign back in to Insider Program... *whistles and walks off
  • By the hardware combination (for resolving the reset loop) they mean the standard soft reset combo (power+volume down) right? I'm abroad for 5 days and don't have my PC here so resolving possible issues would be difficult, but I really want the update...
  • When they mentioned OOBE (Out Of Box Experience) they probably meant the button combo for a hard reset.
  • No, the hardware button combo he is talking about HARD resets your phone. A soft reset cannot resolve the reboot loop.
  • Gabe's original post has the text as a link to the reset steps page on https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp8/settings-and-personalization/reset-my-phone
  • Thanks for this one! ;) Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • No they are saying you would need to do a factory reset using the buttons, and then restore. They linked to the article on how to do it: https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp8/settings-and-personalization/reset-my-phone
  • No they mean the hard reset key combination.
  • Ok thanks! I'll report how it went :)
  • That first known issue sounds like a major one if I read it right. So it's saying that updating to this build it will throw you into the constant reboot? If that's the case, I would think they would want to get it resolved first. Am I out in left field with this?
  • Only if you did a hard reset after installing the previous build.
  • The problem is only if you did a factory reset in 10581. The corruption that 10581 casued is what causes the reboot loop, not the new build.  I don't think short of recovering to 8.1 or doing a factory reset after upgrading there is any way to fix it. So essentailly they are saying you have two choices: Backup, Upgrade, Factory Reset, then Restore Backup, Recover to WP 8.1, Restore, then Upgrade I factory reset one of my phones so I am in that process on it right now, my other phone didn't get factory reset so it is just upgrading
  • Makes sense. Thank you :)
  • How did the "Backup, Upgrade, Factory Reset, then Restore" process go?  I'm thinking about doing this.
  • It went just fine. Of course reinstalling all my apps is taking forever, but that is to be expected. And of course you have to re-authenticate most apps that you login to, and then there are the crappy apps/games that don't save your settings/progress. I think this build seems faster, and it is till downloading/installing in the background.
  • Yipee! Waited for this all week!
  • What is the size of this build
  • Preparing to install updates...at 2% for the last few minutes
  • Someone knows if this new build has any issues on games? Like StarWars: Commander, March of Empires or Terraria (any of these three)..
  • Let us download it first.. Can you please wait for sometime while we go through it :p
  • And I just did a factory reset on 10581 this morning...
  • Im excited to finally form an opinion on the finished product (I know it's never "finished", but I'll take the shipped version as done for now). So far I've been missing wp8.1 for it's smoothness.
  • This latest build is FAST. Even the previous one that was meant to massively improve speed still had lag vs 8.1 when doing things like opening the action centre. This new build is the first that properly follows my finger when opening the action centre without any lag just like 8.1. And I didn't even factory reset!
  • Latest as 10586?
  • No one seems to remember that you need upgraded firmware to give you that smooth experience. Something which does not come to insiders.
  • I really hope they fix performance with the camera in apps that aren't the default (such as Lumia panorama for example).
  • Ive reset on 10581 :o looping im coming..
  • Preparing to install updates...moving slowly along at 11%
  • I'm going to wait cause of OOBE.
  • Wait until when? If you did a factory reset in 10581 you are screwed and will have to do another factory reset after upgrade. (Or recover to WP 8.1, which is essentially a factory reset.)
  • Downloading now! The current build is already so fast and responsive on my Lumia 640 (so amazing for an $80 phone), so I can't image it getting much better :)
  • This build is the final version RTM?
  • RTM has never been the final version even in wp8 or 8.1. It's simply the build installed in the first win10 phones sold
  • I agree!
  • And the gears have begun spinning following a reboot
  • Damn 8gb storage on the 640 XL.  Ran out of space, hopefully i got that fixed now.  Seriously, 8gb is my only issue with this otherwise nice phone.
  • Yep, I ran into the same problem. Twice, so far. (Once at downloading, and again at preparing.) And because of the bug I can't use the Storage app to see how much I have free or anything. (I can't even connect it to my PC via USB.)
  • I managed to delete/uninstall enough stuff, so I got to the gears this time! WooHoo!
  • 640xl then 1520
  • Not seeing the update yet :/ No biggy. Ill have a 950 in two days!
  • Good!
  • Any fix for messages not being synced?
  • Now migrating data after one more reboot. Gotta say, this is the fastest and smoothest update process I've met with all the mobile insider builds, and I've been through all of them.
  • AWESOME! Upgrading my 1520, 640 XL, and 640 Dual SIM and hard setting them all afetrwards right now! SWEET! Can't wait for my 950 XL to get here on/after the 25th!!!!
  • Please let me know the performance on the Lumia 640, will upgrade post your inputs :)
  • LOTS of issues with apps not updating from the store and failing. On my 640, nearly a dozen. I'd wait until that's resolved.
  • W10 is not coming to my phone, which is on 8.1. If I want to have it, should I upgrade now and then opt out of the insider program?
  • You could do that ... or just wait a few weeks.
  • I mean that my phone isn't getting 10 at all, ever. It's still on Cyan and I doubt it'll ever get Denim.
  • Hi all
I went straight from Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 to Windows 10 Mobile build 10581 as my first insider preview. I did not hard reset/factory reformat and I have definitely had worse battery life using a lot of apps like Edge and Mail than I saw in Windows Phone 8.1. I'm happy to accept that the Windows 10 Mobile apps are just more processing resource hungry because they do more but has anybody seen any improvement in battery life with this new build?
  • You mean have they seen better battery life in the 0 minutes that they have been able to use it? (I don't think anyone has managed to get it fully installed yet.)
  • I have a different experience from you with Build 10581. In both my 925 and 1520, the battery life was the best ever in both phones after upgrading to Build 10581. But I'm hesitating upgrading to 10586 at the moment because I can't remember if I did a reset after 10581, although chances are I did!
  • Finally Downloading! My Lumia 920 From Tunisia  Thanks!

  • So it's done, took about 50 minutes. Seems a little snappier than 10581 on this L925, so I can't complain. Now awaiting the arrival of a 950xl.
  • OS Build on PC  is now  10586.11
  • 81% and counting....
Can't wait to install on my L625 :)
  • Just one glitch after the update. Groove music was not playing any songs, but a simple reboot of the phone fixed the problem. Groove is pretty fast and responsive in this build.
  • Sadly lumia camera and glance screen still won't update from the store. Windows camera however opens instantly, best I've ever seen it. Glance continues to work, it's just annoying that the app keeps appearing in the store with the silly error message.
  • Because Lumia Camera is 'dead', except for the Lumia 1020 i believe. Which needs it for some specific 41MP features. Microsoft wants/forces you to use Windows Camera.
  • Thanks, good to know.
  • My Lumia Camera App on my 1020 died yesterday with the update. I'm now rolling back and trying the whole thing over again. Do you know if it is for sure still supported? I'll update after the rool back and updates.
  • Well there's this article from September... http://www.pcworld.com/article/2980688/windows-phone-os/microsoft-retire...
  • Can't remember if I did a reset after installing 10581 or not. So will try first on my 925, then next on my main driver, the 1520.
  • anyone that says RTM need to RTFM! ;)
  • It turns out even though I did a factory reset on 10581 the update still completed without an issue... But just to be safe I am doing a factory reset/restore anyhow.
  • I am hessitant to upgrade because of the reboop loop issue .. What is that plz inform me.?
  • It's nothing, it keeps rebooting the first time until it works. Then it doesn't happen again
  • Running well on my 640. I'll be running this on my daily driver tomorrow.
  • I'm still seeing areas throughout the OS where the text is poorly formatted and cut-off on my 822. It also seems sluggish and the only apps on it are the stock ones.
  • Great.  Right after I just finished setting up my new 1520 with 10581 - recovered back to 8.1, hard reset, updated, installed apps etc etc etc.  Now trying to remember if I hard reset after updating to WM10 :-/
  • I updated my L1520.3, and now about half the apps in the app list are dimmed, and say "pending."  I have rebooted, removed/reinserted my SD card.
  • Actually, now the apps have almost all re-materializing from the "pending" status.  Maybe that happens every time you update, but I've never noticed.
  • it does yes, it always happens after an OS update, can take a fair while to complete also
  • Qtweeder is correct, This will happen each and every time you update the OS.
  • I noticed that with this build on my 640 that the WiFi calling now use the built-in WiFi calling and not a T-Mobile WiFi calling app....
  • So you have a tmobile branded 640 and with the 10586.11 wifi calling works? Are you sure?
  • It did for the first few hours after I installed 10586.11. It showed the little phone handset on the WiFi status indicator and everything. Then I played with the settings including turning it off, and once I turned it back on it never started working again.
  • Anyone still seeing the issue with motion data not downloading in the store but instead get a error message?
  • Plus a bunch of other apps. I started a thread about it.
  • Yep
  • Hate to see motion data still not working in 10586, can anyone tell, its only me or others also having this issue
  • Have this problem on 640XL, lists as an update in the store but never updates just has an error msg 0x803F8006
  • Its fixed now and updates without any error. Check updates in store :)
  • Motion working now on Lumia Icon 586.11 . If you have time use the WDRT to downgrade to 8.1 then back to 10.0.586.11.  Motion Data still errors while attemting update in the Windows Store (Downloads and Updates) section. At least you can turn on Motion Data in the (Settings,Extras) menu/  I used WDRT to go back to 8.1 prior to loading the build prior to 586.11.  No reboot loop.  Only issues still present , Unable to Train Cortana within the "Hey Cortana" menu. Motion Data still errors while attemting update in the Windows Store (Downloads and Updates) section.
  • My Icon updated yesterday and is updating again today. I don't know what is going on.
  • So is this the RTM build of Windows 10 Mobile? If so, I really hope it's daily driver ready, been wanting to upgrade from 8.1 on my 640 for ages now. Going to try it on my 520 and if it's all good there I'll finally put it on my 640 and I'll be on Windows 10 on ally my computers and devices.
  • Do it.
  • Gonna have to downgrade my 520 and 920 but downloading it now, to my 640XL as well.
Hope a lot get a lot improved functionality!
    I've loved W10M since day 1 :3
  • Let's see with the Lumia 430... hope my dumb phone can become now a smart phone.
  •    Installation complete. Seems to be faster. Outlook looks slightly better. Finally! I can type in Chinese again. Onenote is faster. Much faster, but still a little slow. How can I change the font in Onenote so I can use Chinese instead of just an empty box for each character? Let's see if I can use the swipe keyboard again. Camera: Not fixed.  "Something went wrong. Make your your camera us connected (connected to what?) and not being used by another app (no is not)." Question, please help, should I make a hard reset after the upgrading? I was in the slow ring and I just changed to the fast ring today. Thanks.
  • Not sure which keyboard you're using. My 1520 is set-up English (US) and Chinese (繁體) with 注音符號 keyboard. Using this keyboard on latest onenote (updated today after upgrading to w10 586) renders characters correctly both in note title and body. But note title characters temporarily display as box with ? inside it until character selected. Cheers
  • Same problem. I am using both ㄅㄆㄇㄈ and handwriting, but perhaps the problem is the font, not the keyboard. But even if I type chinese inside a text that is displayed correctly (with a different font) still it does not work. If I write like that, even if I cannot see it in the phone, when i see it in my PC after synking they are displayed correcty, is that whan you mean by "temporarily"?
  • If you find a solution for this issue, please let me know here. 多謝

  • 這個問題已經沒了,我也沒有做什麼,也許是更新,我不知道。
  • Works great so far on my Nokia 928.
  • Updating from 10581 now, only because it downloaded it before i caught it (Lumia Icon)
  • Lumia 950/XL specifications pages mention availability of call recording. But nowhere mention of that feature in this build!! It's same build that is shipping with 950, right? No mention of USB OTG either... Tired of asking Gabe about this and also upvoted/submitted feature suggestions on feedback app. Still no use
  • Is it safe to assume that (1) being able to swipe from the bottom to dismiss the navigation bar and (2) double-tapping the display to turn it on are both gone for good? Lumia 640 here. Both options were available in 8.1.
  • Works perfectly fine on my 1520. Have you tried factory reset?
  • After a factory reset on Windows 10 Mobile, why the Equalizer and the Motion data disappears? I think, it's a step backwards...
  • I also miss ability to automatically turn on quiet hours when in a meeting.
  • Can't install on Lumia 1020, download stuck at 94% and then error code 801882d1
  • Is the bug fixed that didn't allow viewing a text file on OneDrive?
  • Im suprised, how well this version is, great job, MS!
  • Still can't train "hey Cortana" on my 930.
  • Smoking fast on my 1520.
  • Was hesitant to update from 10581 on my 640xl because I didn't want to have to reset and lose Lumia apps that have been killed off but the update went smoothly, so far. Only problem I've noticed is one I had in 10581 too which is in the Store - "Lumia Help+Tips"; "Skype" and "motion data" keep listing an update but won't install, even when I click the error msg and say OK to install to internal storage instead of SD. Motion data just has an error msg.
  • I had hard reset 581. But I installed 586 anyways. And, sure enough got the boot-loop. But then I did the button-hard-reset sequence. Worked just fine. And yes, this is an even better build than 581. (L1520) Very crisp. Storage app is back and clean. Messaging is restoring quickly. (it was a bit of a nightmare the last 2 builds) I'm impressed. Really looking forward to W10M on the 950XL. I'm about 30th on the pre-order at the Microsoft Store. There isn't anything more impressive to ME than what Microsoft is doing with a SIM equipped device.
  • Currently doing the update ,i am hoping that i will get my messages back.It has been a nightmare on Lumia 730 Dual sim.
  • The message restore didnt work for me .How did you manage ?
  • Anyone else having issue with setting notification sounds for messaging? Nothing in settings for the Messaging app and the Messaging app is not listed in Notifications & Actions. The only apps listed under Notifications & Actions are Outlook Mail and Windows Feedback.
  • I was trying to figure this out too.  All of the 8.1 sounds are still playing.  I went through and updated most of them to the windows sounds, but couldn't find anything for messaging.
  • I am now seeing options for other apps under Notifications and Actions.  I guess it just required a wait as I don't think I've done anything special.  I did reboot my phone this morning, maybe that helped, but I did that last night, too.  I now see these apps under Notifications & Actions: Alarms & Clock, Messaging, Outlook Mail, Skype Video, Windows Feedback
  • wow no issues for me.
  • Still unable to do the glance screen update!!!
  • Hi, need a help. If someone could help me getting Hey Cortana app link in W10 mobile 10586. I am not able to get that feature on my lumia 1520 (Indian Version RM 937)
    Please help. Thank you
  • i have the RM-937 too, Hey cortana is available and working perfect for me, did you try hard reset?
  • I was having hey cortana in wp8.1, after installing tp i have hard reset and rolled back to wp8.1 and i lost that app. Then i installed 10581 and keeping in indian region and language i am not able to get that app.
Any link for the app or tip??

  • I have the exact same problem!
  • Hey, have the same problem. Even if you start from scratch happens the same? i tought this is cause of the restore (that alwasy makes problems). So, if i install everything from scratch still they don't update?
  • Same here, i did a factory reset after the update.
  • Same issue!
  • Very good build running on my 925. Three UK are p*ssing me off now though, I'm not tetherting anything!
  • This is RTM folks. Any updates past this point will be incremental, but in terms of build numbers, 10586 is THE ONE.

  • Fastest install ever! Works fine on my 930

Choose Your quick actions  Rotation Lock can't Replace !? Lumia 920 .. Please Help Me..
  • change the size of the screen to 200 in system display i think it is, anyway, just search display in settings and you will find the option setted at 225 (maximum) when you change it to 200 your icons will become a bit smaller but you will be able to set those nasty things. You can return to recomended form after setting them up. But remember, after returning to 225, you will still have the same issue.
  • Woha, two improvements/fixes: 1) larger text-box when writiing a text message/sms in portrait mode, and 2) you can actually change the default search engine from Bing to Google :-)
  • I still don't understand why anyone would want their default search engine to be Google? Bing search IMO is so much better, plus what does Google give you for using their search engine? Bing Rewards provides you with points that you can use to buy extra storage on OneDrive for free, coupons for local stores like Burger King, McDonalds, etc., discounts on items from the Microsoft Store and lots of other stuff. Everytime you search two web pages, you get a point, and believe me, the points add up quick! I have over a TB of storage on OneDrive that I'm not paying a dime for all for using Bing Search instead of Google.
  • Hey!  for those who are stuck at 0% go in the store and cancel the Groove & XBOX updates, update should jump to 10%.
  • Just received my 950 last night. Works pretty well. It's definitley faster than my 925 running 8.1.
  • I think I'm just about done with Windows Mobile.  I was a huge fan of Windows Mobile two years ago. I had the 365 onedrive space for my family which was an affordable way to keep memories, at least two generations of windows mobile phones and I've bought the band 1 and 2 after saving up for a year.  For brief moments everything worked to keep my family organized at home and work. However, the implementation is ridiculously broken and it stays that way for sometimes a year at a time.  When something new comes out it breaks something else. 1) First onedrive was broken for nearly a year, the upload speed on the server side of things meant it took me 8 months to back up family photos and videos. 2) The microsoft band 1 burned my skin when there was a chemical reaction. 3) For months my apps wouldn't work after choosing to update it would just error out stuck in an update loop.  Currently I have 36 apps waiting for an update and unusuable. 4) The windows store has been stagnant for months. 5) This $250.00 microsoft band still doesn't work with Cortana after the final build. My big thing was to make appointments and help me schedule things properly and it still gives me a bluetooth error.   I'm very thankful I've had the opportunity to try out all of this technology but it's really too much of a headache because I never know when things will work and everything is unreliable when I need something at work. I think I'm going to sell my phone and band and maybe try out google. I know this sounds very whiny but hopefully Microsoft will read this and think about their ecosystem a little more. Microsoft could turn most of this around if they just tell developers that for the next two years they get to keep 100% of their app proceeds.  Your diehard evangelists are starting to move away from you, it's time to take a more drastic approach.
  • For whatever reason, WM10 on my L1520 was just insufferably slow/crashy, so I just went back to 8.1.  Unfortunately, I lost all SMS messages I received while running WM10, even though I had SMS backup turned on, and specifically did a backup before reverting to 8.1.  Just a cautionary note that your SMS messages might not actually be getting backed up in WM10.
  • "To recover your phone, you can use the hardware key combination to reset your phone which will then put it at the OOBE experience on Build 10586."........Not Working will have to reset back to 8.1
  • Update: Working great a lot of nit's fixed from 10581, very smooth.  You will have to update apps as they will be dimmed and it seems to force you to do it over wifi, makes sense.
  • is my lumia 620 eligible for this preveiw
  • Wtf! Downloading got stucked on 26% for three hours.. Anyone else who faced this problem but present now on 10586 built????
  • it took 10 mins maybe to download on mine , i have lumia 1520,  maybe server busy now, i downloaded as soon as it was announced :P
  • What I consider to be the greatest feature of Windows 10 over iOS and Android is Cortana. Yet in this latest build, the one supposed to be delivered to manufacturers, is still lacking the ability to train Hey Cortana. How can they expect to compete with iOS and Android, both of which will responde to "OK Google" and "Hey Siri", when we can't get "Hey Cortana" trained, much less working properly! Come on MS, you have to do better! Windows 10's future is riding on this release!
  • mine is working good, i have not reset though, trained from 10581
  • The app "Microsoft Fotos Plug-In" will not install. No idea what it is. What sux more is that the phone does not upload my pictures to OneDrive automatically. The setting is activated, but it does not upload. Messenger is very buggy and mixing Skype with SMS messages is a bad idea. Other than that, all seems to work well.
  • First of all I'm loving my 10586 on my 1520, run marvelously, of course not without hickups and burps :). Had to do a hard reset, becuase of the 10581, but no biggy the backup restored nicely.   My question to you guys is what is the proper way to sync music now? I actually hate the onedrrive sync, but i can't find an option to disable it. Anyone knows how ? I searched around, but cant find anything. Installting the Windows Phone App right now to see if I can sync with iTunes. Thanks in advance
  • Well, 581 I only had Motion Data not updating, now I have 8 lumia apps not updating form the store with error 0x803f8006. Everything else seems okay except my screen flickers occasionally. It didnt do that on 581.
  • When I join to the Insider Program for the very first time after one update, comes another and then, that newer build gets corrupted (Because I reboot the phone several times) now I'm scarred that this thing happens again with this build.
  • I'm using 8.1 now as I rolled back before so will the first issue affect my phone.
  • Atempted to update my Lumia 820 to 10586. Going from 8.1. Update downloads, prepares for install, begins install, just before complete I get the following error 0X800705AA (try again later) Anyone have the same experience? Any advice?
  • I went from 8.1 > 10166 > 10586 on my 830 and didn't do any wipes. I had to uninstall & reinstall Windows Insider app whilst on 166, but everything else has been very smooth. I'll keep using 586 for a few days and see how it holds up, but so far so good.
  • Seems there is a problem with MMS texts it doesn't open.......... I thought this one would be even better but here is another one again.   I really do wonder if it's worth staying with windows when the market share keeps dropping, it's taken forever for wp10 and still is way too buggy, it's like they have 1 person working on this at microsoft, lol.......... sure seems like they absoltuley have no issue with letting WP die, I mean really they put out 2 phones only and the same old design? have then seen the Iphone 6s and the Samsung?????? I am lucky I have the 1520 and it's still the best damn phone anywhere if you ask me........ Problem is that I LOVE the WP10 and there isn't anything better but Microsoft is sure like a Great hot gf with a real bad attitude, you put up with the crap even though you know at the end there might be no future !!!
  • Got this build but decided to do a fresh install .. after this the OS refused to install some apps giving me an error 0x803f8006 on some apps.  The mail/calendar app refused to install the latest update where i had the option to view as a month and few other glitches. After being frustrated about it i chosed to install Win 8.1 again ... OMG ! Why on earth would i ever want Win 10 again ? Going back to Win 8.1 reminded me why i came to Windows Phone platform in the first place. 8.1 is miles away compared to Windows 10.. everything is blazing fast.  The People app is usefull again, the contact screen shows the pictures on the whole damn screen and on dark theme not the stupid accent color and the round little picture .. Photos can show pictures from Facebook and Onedrive ( in Win 10 only Onedrive)... There are only few things i miss from windows 10 , the Mail App , the Action center that you can expand to show lots of settings and the Settings menu that has everything in order and Store, the rest Win 8.1 is above Windows 10. I know Win 10 is still not finished but this is the shipping version of 10 and it blows compared to 8.1
  • Updated Icon. Phone is now stuck in a reboot loop.
  • I installed it on my daily Lumia 930. First time on W10 Insider Program (for Lumia 930) Its work just fine, has a little ''Resuming...'' messages, but it works fluid as pudding. If you cant wait no more, just install it, it has no problem.
  • it's impossible for me to make a hard reset , i tried everything ...... some help please
  • lumia 635 ...i have so problems... i can't make hard reset every time i did it, it's always back to windows 10 build 10581 . i can't go back to windows 8.1 . even in using windows recovery tools
  • Somebody try it out and check if there are sound notifications for e-mail and if I can set custom ring and text tones for people.
  • Seems faster
  • So yet another sad update with major issues, that they had promised the previous build would have fixed henceforth... despite the assurance, a hard reset/ recovery of your device is still necessary. Way to go Mobile team! I am going to love my new iPhone it seems! You have tried your customers' patience far too much!
  • I really do think they whole Microsoft team doesn't give a damn about the WP10 and they are just trying to get us all to move away so they don't have to worry about any user soon. This update is CRAP !!!!! messages don't work, the quiet hours is gone, Cortana doesn't work anymore....... why go backwards????? what the hell is the wait ...... Seriously wish someone else would duplicate the moving tiles so we can move on to better phones and faster IOS. It's very frustrating having to put up with microsoft so much...... it's no wonder why they are losing share constantly.......... terrible just really absolutely ridiclous and for sure not worth it. I totally would not buy another windows phone and once this one dies I am moving on to a better system.
  • I understand the frustration. It has been there all along for those of us who liked Windows 8.1. They made the decision to dump 8.1 and go back to 7 and graft some 8.1 features onto it instead of keeping Windows 8 and adding the start menu back onto it. Microsoft makes great software but they never stick to anything. We all hope at long last that this time they will stick to it and keep updating it until we have everything. MS will not commit to saying that they will bring back place holders in One Drive we liked or that they will make unified Inbox a reality. They won't commit to supporting groups in Outlook. It's sort of in Phone but not on Desktop. It is hard to have faith in them as they don't stick to anything. Yesterday they dumped apparently the emulator for making Android apps run in Windows. Now they claim they will make it easier to port IOS apps work into Windows. Who has faith in that latest promise? Microsoft needs to realize that most users will take clunky software from Apple and Google that works rather than wait for Microsoft to create elegant software that doesn't work. We all love Windows and Windows Phones but we are taken for granted over and over again. Some on this forum complain that we expect too much from Beta software but it is supposed to be finished or nearly so. Even Windows 10 PC has issues even after 10240 and 10586 and the latest update last night. It never seems to work as advertised. Most of us got involved in Windows to make suggestions to make it better, but mostly our requests are ignored. We all know deep down that sooner or later we'll probably have to go to IPhone. And we all hate that.
  • It sure is true.......... I have been using NOTHING but MS since it was dos and never changed but really how long can they keep having issues?  My laptop had so many issues with windows 8.1 that I dumped and did a clean install of 10 and mostly love it but really........ it can be soooooooooooo great and yet it's just not up to par and I have no clue how despite all the signs they just don't do anything about it. I do think having their own hardware is a major move and it's really always been why Apple did so great cause the hardware makers all sucked, but I too am going elswhere soon .... why do you think their phone share whent from 3% to 1.5???? How can you lose that much share of the market that you barely had and still think they care??? They would have done something to make at least the crowd that is doing the testing for them happier but it's total opposite, they mess with this stuff way too much.
  • I just installed this on my 1520 and 920. Not seeing any problems. Seems good. I will note two observations: Under 10581 I was getting a motion_data app update failure. Once I went to 10586.11 that app updated fine. Under 10586, I saw that Lumia Camera had an update, but it failed. So, I opened Lumia Camera and received a message that it was being retired and that I should use Microsoft Windows Camera (or just 'Camera' as it appears in the App list). Strange, but I may have missed a news item regarding the Camera app change.. This is on my 1520... The 920 has been running the Microsoft Camera already (don't remember every pulling the Lumia Camera off of that phone... but I did a hard reset on it a few weeks back after one of the fast track builds). Still the same inconsistencies in the Phone History, Message Histor and Voicemail History in terms of selecting items, deleting items and gestures. This amazes me that these very basic functions aren't more uniform built-in app to built-in app.
  • Just rec'd an update of Photos, Windows Voice Recorder Outlook mail & calender... some apps are still crashing, i dont know if I shud hard reset,. didnt do it lats time, which save me of the boot loop bug,  any one having issue with messaging and store app crashing ?
  • Just joined fast track and I'm pleasantly surprised on how well Windows 10 works on my three year old 920...a little laggy, but no more then 8.1. Red920
  • So I kept on the slow ring because my 920 blew up on the fast ring a couple of months ago. I finally switched back to the fast ring and got the 10856 build. Wow, what a difference (sorry, I don't remember my previous build number). It was initally pretty good with the old build, but has gone more erratic towards the end as well as slower performance. This build toally gave new life to the phone (just in time to be usurped by the 950). It's snappy, everything works and it looks fabulous. So, that's my experience so far, for what it's worth.
  • My 925 went from 10581 to 10586-flawlessly.
No big difference noted yet, but it seems smooth and fine.
My 925 is not my daily driver. I use it with T-Mobile for international calls, texts, and to be able to play with W10 Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • I updated my lumia 1020 from 581 to 586 without doing any hard reset, I just went to update and it updated my phone to 586 without giving me any problem.  :) It seems that the OS is much faster that the previous build and less bug.
  • i installed build 10586 and my phone got into that endless reboot loop, where only the nokia logo is showing ad infinitum... i couldnt revert to 8.1 on my pc, so i took it to a nokia service station where they charged me 15€ to get it back to 8.1. Now, should i try to get back to this build, os there a risk of the same thing happening???
  • yes, it is available for 620
  • I updated yesterday, now this morning I am receiving another phone update? Must you install 581 before 586? Odd.
  • I love the effort and using build 10581, but crushing issue makes me wonder if the same is happening with 950/950xl,it seems windows 10 has along way to go,bare in mind we havent even gotten to slow ring, lets keep going people...
  • Feels faster...I love the flat design, but bigger icons. The only thing that seems to be negative for me is that Edge seems slower compared to before. It has only been several hours since I upgraded, so we'll see. This is with HTC One M8.
  • Ok, so here's how the fast ring screwed me over. I was on the slow ring on my Lumia 520, my daily driver. But as you know, the slow ring has been sick on 10166 for ages now. It was working ok but I was getting frustrated by the loading/resuming screens and clearly it was playing on my patience. Every time I looked online a new build would come on to the fast ring 240,536, 572 or whatever. The bugs seemed to be getting fixed. The battery life was being improved and the builds were getting faster. Yet none of them were making the slow ring. So when 581 came out (It cleared the bug of having to go back to 8.1 I think) I jumped ship to the fast ring. The first installation, I got fucked by the dropbox app which didn't uninstall properly, and the update kept giving me an error because of it during that annoying preparing to install time. I had to reset the phone and that somehow fucked up. Ended up with a win10 with no phone app,ni messaging app, no store app!! Had to go back to 8.1. (Fucking dropbox!) Anyway updated to 10581. Working ok. Still a bit slow but much faster than 10166. Liked the new lock screen thing where only the date went up(even that wasn't there on 166). But there was a bug in the storage app which had me worried. Couple of days later 10586.11 comes up. Installs fine, storage app issue is fixed. Overall the performance was very good. Pretty close to the finished product. 2 days, no problem. Battery life significantly improved. But then, some device hub bs popped up, asked for a restart. The notification wouldn't go away nor would it respond when I tapped it. So I switched off the phone, switched it on again and voila boot-loop! Fucking hell man. Hard reset won't work, don't even try it if it happens to you. Recovery tool-back to 8.1. I'm staying here on 8.1 for now. Tbh, kind of forgot that 8.1 was pretty damn good. I'm not complaining per se. I read the changelog, knew there's a bug. But in my defense l, it did say that the bug hit of you had reset your phone in 581 and it also said that the bug showed up at installation. So I'm just saying none of those applied in my case, it installed fine, worked beautifully for 2 days and then died. So just a disclaimer to people downloading/downloaded the build, don't switch off your phone :p
Ps, this site is a bloody horrible experience on WP ironically
  • Anyone else having issues with whatsapp? It won't load all my contacts, just 4 of them.
  • Updated my 1020 from 8.1 to WP10 last Thursday. Took probably 2.5 hours but I know now I should of deleted all my apps first then reinstalled. I also had over 2000 photos I should of removed! lol. Went with the Slow ring so it updated to 10166. A few hours after updating, I switched to Fast ring and got the 10581 update. It was buggy at first and seemed to drain the battery quicker. After a day and having gone through every setting imaginable, it leveled off and was working pretty well. Found Lumia Camera and downloaded it so I was happy. I was on 10581! The phone was working pretty good. This past Wednesday night I was reading about 10586 and the reported issues so I decided to wait to download. I fell asleep and forgot I had automatic downloads on and it installed overnight. Crap! Things that didn't work after 10586 update: Outlook Calendar did work at all. Wouldn't launch. Had to delete Exchange Account, AT&T mail account & Outlook account and re-add Email notifications no longer worked for all accounts. No black number notification or text preview on all Live tiles I had for several different Exchange folders. Had to delete all mail accounts and re-add all folder shortcut tiles Lumia Camera was replaced as the Default camera with Windows Camera. Tile on Start screen was even replaced. Had to make the Lumia Camera default again and add tile to Start Menu No notifications on Lock screen anymore for Text, Email etc. They came back after deleting email accounts, tiles and then re-adding In Notifications & Actions, there are some Apps listed not with a name but as a path ie @\Programs\DUACLIENT\... My Data Use from AT&T and Wifi both show 0% use for the past 30 days Instagram App did not launch. Had to uninstall and re-install app Accuweather app did not launch. Had to delete and re-install app Certain apps still will not download and error out (Network, Lumia Camera, Two apps with no name listed at all!). Still not fixed and it's been a week. Video playback is kind of choppy still Never did a hard reset or factory restore during this whole process though. Maybe that would of helped? Still trying to get my AT&T email notifications to show on the lock screen. I'm patient but it's a pain in the ass when an update hoses your phone and you have to spend hours setting it up again... I like some of the features in WP10 but miss some of the WP8.1 ones such as the Email and Calendar..
  • My 535 has gone in to the loop. Hardware reset has made no difference, so off to get the recovery tool
  • I have a Lumia Icon and I've kept an active line for it since the beginning of the Insider Mobile program just so I could live test it.  After installing 10586 and finding it to still be an unuseable OS due to issues with the store, etc, and hearing this is the proposed RTM, I guess it's time to terminate the line and reinvest the funds in something more productive.  I appreciate the complications, but I'm wondering if the Mobile staff actually understands the concept of build / test / fix.  It seems like the gum wall in Pikes Place ... they chew on it awhile, then put it up there to see if it sticks.  As a developer for nearly 35 years, this is headlineing the frustration department !  I'll wait a few days to see if there is a fix to the store, and if not, it's time to hang up that line.  Fortunately it's not my primary, but I'm still shelling out for it every month.
  • updated my Nokia 1520 unlocked AT&T rm 940.  i just did a update from 581 leaving my sd card in with no hard reset.  All loaded fine.  i had to move most all apps back to the sd card now that storage works again.  So now I have used main internal memory 5.32GB.  My lumia camera doesn't work because it looks like microsoft wants to delete the app permanently.  So i have lumia camera, creative studio (beta), and lumia help showing error in the store downloads.  Overall I am very happy with how i use my phone ( pretty basic).  Groove works great, movie player works great, audio booked, outlook, translator, and GPS all work great.  Downloads seem fast and edge seems faster.  I was even able to setup and use my vpn service that I had not been able to use  till now.  My credit union even recognized my new mobile and responded so....Not bad coming from the Andes mountains of South America back to the USA.
  • Installing it on my little Lumia 520 "Windows 10 tester" right now! :-)
  • The update dowloaded on my 830 and I told it to go ahaed and reboot..... Then I saw this article, then I noticed I was in the reboot loop... Had to do the 4 step button reset.. it is reloading now.... Not sure what version I will be on when it is done. I told it not to do a restore, going to start fresh!
  • I am a L730DS user and before downlod the 10586 I want to know that if I download the 10586 and when actual OS will be realease then what to do/ hapen (hardreset require or actual OS will be installed on 10586 autometically) and what would be the better Fast Ring or Slow Ring.
  • Updating my 930 at the moment, stuck on step 20 of 22 for about 20 minutes now....
  • Guys I started updating on my lumia 720 today through slow ring ... Facing a major problem while installing ... Its showing a " :-( " bad smiley symbol. Unable to turn on my phone normally to 8.1.
Plzz help me out. How can I revert back to 8.1??
  • Are linked inboxes gone again withthis build?
  • And also, faster. The battery is better. That issue when you go to the app lists from task manager and the wallpaper's darken is missing, it's still present. Sorry for the bad english.
  • Awesome!, But Just One Bug Seems To Be Left Off That My 540 Sometimes Forgets My Correct Unlocking Code!.
Won't Install It Anytime Soon Thanks!.
  •     Installed on Lumia 640.
Before installing this update, I was on W8.1P and did a hard reset.
Then I updated to this version and after update, did hard reset. Conclusion: I bought this phone for fluid experience, but in Windows 10M, for example, if I press in settings on something, It will open after ~2 seconds. This is ridiculous; in w8.1 settings, for example, opened as fast as 'instantly'.
Okay, I could somehow live with slow system, as it's not official release yet, but simple tasks made phone warm and tasks like installing apps made phone HOT. I decided not to harass my phone and downgraded.
  • slow dialpad no icon for Groove music and Weather (no uninstall option for this apps) no glance screen for Weather
  • After Updating 10586 my lomia 720  I found a major bugs  when i play song on grove music some time its automatic pause songs anybody found this bug
  • Holding off until AT&T offically releases 10xxx for my 1020.  All the DEV previews always are full of bugs.  Plus I do not want to loose lumia camera again.  MS camera app is horrible.  Loose all resolution.
  • Windows 10 mobile 10586 build working like a charm in Lumia 535 ... Issue :- Only problem which i came across was games are running on a wider screen which is causing them to crop the screen . P.S - Thanks for the integrated skype feature .. Best thing of windows 10 mobile so far .
