nokia imaging sdk

OneShot was the first third-party app to take advantage of Nokia’s Imaging SDK and offers a nice range of professional controls and filters for your Windows Phone camera.

An update for OneShot is being pushed out that takes the photography app to version 4.0 and adds full support for the Nokia Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1520 Windows Phones. This will allow you to take photos over 38MP on the Lumia 1020 and 20MP for the Lumia 1520.

There are a handful of solid photo editing apps on Windows Phone, but only a few imaging SDKs. One comes to us from Nokia and another from Aviary. These allow developers to quickly and easily add photo editing to their apps without needing to start from scratch. They’re more or less plug and drop when creating apps. Sadly, it looks like Aviary might be pulling their support of both Windows Phone and Windows 8. More after the break.

About two weeks ago we showed you guys and gals a new app for Windows Phone called OneShot. It’s a photography app that lets you take photos with real-time filters and adjust camera settings on the fly with a beautiful interface. OneShot is especially unique because it was one of the (if not the) first third-party app built using Nokia’s new Imaging SDK. The new update brings some features and improves performance. Let’s check it out.

Nokia unveiled their Imaging SDK back when the Lumia 1020 was unveiled in New York City. The Nokia Imaging SDK allows developers to easily integrate photo editing capabilities into their apps, kind of like Aviary but with a slightly different approach.

The Imaging SDK from Nokia gives the power to developers, leaving them to build the UI for the app. OneShot is one of the first apps in the Store that uses the Nokia Imaging SDK and it is pretty dang awesome. Let’s check it out.
