Airtravel: Flights and Hotels is a simply laid-out app designed to find you the best deals on airline flights and hotels. The app searches over 720 airlines and dozens of travel sites to locate the best possible deals. Available for both Windows PC and Phones, Airtravel: Flights and Hotels winds down this week's AdDuplex HERO apps lineup.
The HERO Apps program is a promotional campaign for Windows Phone and Windows developers on the AdDuplex Network. The program is a collaboration with AdDuplex, myAppFree, AppDeals, PluralSight and Windows Central to deliver a host of benefits to the top apps and games each month. Our role in the HERO App campaign is to shine the spotlight on these apps and give them a little exposure to you, our readers. We wind down the week by taking a look at Airtravel: Flights and Hotels from KRBSoft.
One way to describe Airtravel: Flights and Hotels is that the app is a simple and straightforward way to find flights and lodging. The app has search fields for your flights and hotel stays and a page that will display your search history for easy reference. You can search for flights with just departure and arrival airports and dates, or you can dig in and refine your searches by direct flights only, number of passengers and flight class. And you can then sort by price, flight times, duration, and layovers.
Hotels searches can be conducted in a similar manner: your destination and dates of stay information, or expanded to include the number of guests. Search results can be sorted by price, star ratings, distance from the airport and more. Hotel results will also include photos of the facility, details on the hotel's amenities and breakdown of rates by room type.
Settings for Airtravel: Flights and Hotels will allow you to choose the type of currency and the option to reset your search history.
In researching a few flight and hotel rates using Airtravel: Flights and Hotels, the app comes across as an uncomplicated and simple way to find rates and airfares. Airtravel: Flights and Hotels is a free app and available for both Windows PC and Phones.

Anyone else tried searching for a flight and found changing the months ridiculously slow? I have to tap the left or right arrow over and over before it moves to the next month.
One of the best surprises for me on Windows Phone was the Skyscanner app. It's actually better than the website, in that it uses a calendar ribbon for departure and return flights so that you can easily see where the cheapest days are (rather than torturously nudging the Date field up and down until you find something good). Momondo has a similar graphical element on its site now, but the Skyscanner app is still the best implementation of it that I've seen. Saved me a lot of time and money.
