What you need to know
- BlizzCon 2019 takes place this coming weekend.
- A lot of new games are expected to be announced then.
- We may finally see Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2.
- You can read about all of the rumors floating around below.
BlizzCon 2019 is around the corner, and it seems like there are a lot of possible leaks floating around. A few days ago, Diablo 4 was probably revealed by an upcoming artbook, and today, new images appeared on social media revealing Overwatch 2. As is the case with any leak, take these with a grain of salt until we receive confirmation from Blizzard Entertainment.
Diablo II Remastered
When the Diablo 4 artbook leaked, many industry insiders said that it also revealed the existence of Diablo II Remastered. While we weren't able to see definitive proof of this game, it's worth keeping in mind as we head into BlizzCon in a few days.
Many months ago, Blizzard announced that it was working on a larger Diablo game aside from the Diablo Immortal mobile experience. This game is probably Diablo 4. Since the artbook even mentioned it, it's probably going to be announced at BlizzCon. We'll be really surprised if it isn't, especially with all the negative publicity the company has been embroiled in lately.
There are rumors floating around that Diablo Immortal will launch at BlizzCon or a release date will be revealed. These are by far the least credible, but since we haven't heard much about the game, it's possible we will get information at the event.
Today, a number of social media accounts posted images of what appear to be a new Overwatch hero and an Overwatch 2 logo. If these are indeed real and not PhotoShopped, someone went through a lot of work to fake them. However, we'll have to wait until the weekend to find out.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands
A few days ago, we noticed a few images on Reddit which seemed to discuss an upcoming World of Warcraft expansion called Shadowlands. We thought we'd mention it in this roundup just in case it's real. There was a lot of high-quality art accompanying the post so there may be something to it.
As soon as we hear more about other rumors or leaks, we'll update this post. Hopefully, all of the above are actually true because it would certainly please a lot of Blizzard fans. However, only time will tell. What do you want to see out of BlizzCon? Let us know.

I think Overwatch 2 is unnecessary, they should just focus on adding to the base game, if they want to bring in new game modes or whatever they could always do that as a paid expansion. I personally feel like multiplayer focused games should just build upon themselves and developers shouldn't be dropping sequels.
Allegedly the focus for OW2 is a PVE story mode. Which would be odd if the multiplayer was second fiddle given how much money is invested in the OWL.
All the more reason why it couldn't simply be added as an expansion for Overwatch.
I'm surprised BlizzCon is even happening this year given the state of Blizzard's public image right now.
As soon as Diablo 4 is announced nobody in that building will care. Short memories.
Not everyone. Diablo 4 would have been a day 1 purchase for me but I've uninstalled Battlenet and barring a change of heart from Blizzard, I don't anticipate buying anything from them in the foreseeable future.
I deleted Hearthstone. And have no intention of buying a Blizzard game again.
