Few games have amassed as much hype and excitement as Elden Ring, the latest project and a brand-new IP from legendary developer FromSoftware, creator of Dark Souls and much more. Delayed from its initial release on Jan. 21, many fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Elden Ring on its new release date of Feb. 25, 2022. During the Taipei Game Show 2022, FromSoftware's Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao alleviated concerns by confirming that everything is on schedule.
The "master version has already been submitted," according to Kitao, which means Elden Ring has officially gone gold, an industry saying indicating game is finished and ready to be printed onto disks. The team behind the long-awaited RPG is currently working on a day one patch for Elden Ring, which will include a plethora of fixes and tweaks to improve the experience further when Elden Ring releases, including taking feedback from the previous closed network test.
Elsewhere during the show and interview, Kitao revealed plenty of information about Elden Ring and answered community questions. Elden Ring is expected to be an absolutely massive RPG adventure filled with challenges and lore, and this was confirmed during the show. According to Kitao, Elden Ring's campaign "should be able to be completed within around 30 hours" for most players, with significant amounts of additional content layered on top of that. Overall, players can expect to spend dozens of hours within Elden Ring if they want.
