In Forza Horizon 5, players will be greeted by a colossal amount of content in which to partake, much of which revolves around exploring the colorful open world. However, one of the biggest features that excite players when they enter a Forza Horizon game is the inclusion of Barn Finds. Much like their real-world counterparts, Barn Finds involve finding classic gems abandoned by time, and restoring them to their previous glory. In Forza Horizon 5, players have 15 Barn Finds to discover and restore.

These Barn Finds can be tricky to, well, find, especially since many of them have specific unlock requirements. Here's everything you need to know about Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 5.

There's so much to explore, and every inch may have something new for you to discover (including Barn Finds!).

Forza Horizon 5 is available now for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, Xbox Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

You can purchase Forza Horizon 5 right now to gain access to one of the best Xbox racing games you can play. In our Forza Horizon 5 review, it quickly became evident that Playground Games somehow managed to deliver on its ambitious promises.

What are Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 5?

In the real world, "barn find" refers to finding an old classic vehicle and restoring it. In Forza Horizon 5, the answer is pretty similar (if a bit more on the nose), as Barn Finds are legendary classics hidden throughout the world. These cars need to be tracked down and recovered from the dilapidated homes they're abandoned in, and then restored to their former glory. By seeking out Barn Finds, FH5 players can augment their collection with hidden entries on the Forza Horizon 5 car list, providing a lot of incentive to explore wherever you go.

Forza Horizon 5's Barn Finds behave a little differently than in previous Forza Horizon games. Just like before, Barn Finds can be "revealed" by exploring the map and at different times or seasons. However, some Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 5 can only be discovered by doing specific things, like completing Expeditions. This time around, Barn Finds are more contextual and more varied than ever before.

Another new feature in Forza Horizon 5 is the addition of Gift Drops, which are personalized Barn Finds that players can give to the community. You can choose any of your cars, complete with liveries and upgrades, and send to a random player in the FH5 community. These Gift Drops appear in the same locations Barn Finds are, so you can return to these barns at any time to help prepare a Gift Drop.

Of course, this also means it can be difficult to know how to obtain every Barn Find, especially if you're aiming to fill out your car collection. Fortunately, we're keeping track of everything you need to know about discovering every Barn Find in FH5, and what cars you can expect to earn from them.

There are 15 Barn Finds in FH5. One of these Barn Finds is different from all the others, as it is a part of a Horizon Story, so doesn't count in the 14 Barn Finds players need for one of the Forza Horizon 5 Achievements (the Better Than New Achievement).

Where is every Barn Find in Forza Horizon 5?

There are 15 Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 5, and every single one has different requirements for revealing it, challenges to finding it, and cars to restore at the end of it. Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 5 are more diverse than ever, and can provide valuable upgrades to your car collection while playing.

For help with finding every Barn Find, be sure to employ the "Drone Mode" tool available in Forza Horizon 5's settings. The Drone is quick and easy to fly, making it extremely simple to scan Barn Find areas and more clearly mark the location on your map. If you want to expedite the process even further, keep reading.

Here's every Barn Find and how to discover them in Forza Horizon 5.

1963 Volkswagen Beetle

The first Barn Find that many players may discover, but one of the last they'll actually obtain, the 1963 Volkswagen Beetle isn't like any other Barn Find in Forza Horizon 5. The Beetle, nicknamed the "Vocho" in Mexico, is an integral part of Mexican car culture, so it holds a special place in FH5's world. One of the Horizon Stories, which is a collection of side missions and more personal adventures, follows the journey of in-game mechanic Alejandra finding her father's decaying Beetle and carrying it through his life and achievements.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

In order to find the 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, you'll need to play through the "Vocho" Horizon Story until the second-to-last chapter. You can play the first chapter of Vocho if you choose in the first chapter of the game, but the rest of the Story (with the exception of the final chapter) is unlocked through Horizon Mexico's section in the Adventure. There are a variety of missions and branching paths to reach the second-to-last chapter of Vocho.

You'll start by finding and restoring the classic Beetle, and then Alejandra will modify and tweak the car for different scenarios like racing, drifting, off-roading, tricks, and more. You'll put the Beetle through its paces, before finally taking it back to a place of great significance in the car's life and photographing it. Afterward, you'll be able to redeem an Accolade to add the 1963 Volkswagen Beetle to your garage.

After you join the Horizon Hall of Fame, you can return to the Vocho Horizon Story for the final chapter, which gives you a custom Forza Edition of the Beetle upon completion (with its own exclusive performance and cosmetic upgrades).

It's not hard to find the barn the Beetle is located in when playing the first chapter of Vocho, since the game leads you right to it, but here's where it is on the map nevertheless. Keep in mind, however, the simply finding the Beetle doesn't get you the car, which is why this particular Barn Find sits separately from all the rest.

1967 Ford Racing Escort RS1600 MK1

One of the first Barn Finds many players are liable to discover, the 1967 Ford Racing Escort RS1600 MK1 is a piece of Mexican racing history. Known for accomplishing incredible journeys over vast distances in intense endurance racing, this car is a great addition to anyone's collection. I spotted this Barn Find while driving around the Horizon Mexico Festival site, and didn't notice any abnormal or special requirements to unlocking it.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

In order to find the Ford Racing Escort, you'll need to trek up La Gran Caldera, encouraging a car with capable off-roading skills. Don't go all the way to the peak, however, as this Barn Find is hidden off a little side road about halfway up the volcano. Don't forget to hit the XP Bonus Board that guards the entry road! The 1967 Ford Racing Escort RS1600 MK1 also didn't take too long to restore, so you'll be able to drive it yourself in no time.

1970 GMC Jimmy

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1970 GMC Jimmy is one of the odd Barn Finds, as it doesn't dynamically appear on the map over time and has to be "spotted" while doing something else. This Barn Find was initially spotted during a Forza Horizon 5 Let's Go! stream, but it wasn't clear what vehicle it was. Now, we know. The GMC Jimmy is an off-roading legend, and is spotted while playing through the Horizon Apex Expedition, which you can unlock through the Horizon Adventure screen.

While playing the Horizon Apex Expedition, you're tasked with jumping over the tallest building in some ancient ruins. At the peak of the jump, you'll spot the Barn Find in the distance. Once you've completed the Horizon Apex Expedition (and consequently opened the Horizon Apex Festival site), you can go hunt down the GMC Jimmy. As expected, it's very close to the ruins you spot the Barn Find from, buried in a mess of trees. The 1970 GMC Jimmy also doesn't take long to restore.

1991 Jaguar XJR-15 Sport

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1991 Jaguar XJR-15 Sport is especially unique, as it gets an entire Expedition dedicated to finding it. This incredible sports car is the source of huge levels of excitement from Ramiro, the tour guide that makes frequent appearances throughout Forza Horizon 5, who describes the vehicle as a "big cat." Ramiro tried unsuccessfully to find the Jaguar on his own, losing a ton of gear from his plane in the process, so it's up to you to help him out (and recover the Jaguar for yourself in the process).

Forza Horizon 5 Expedition Screenshot (Image credit: Windows Central)

You can obtain the Jaguar XJR-15 Sport by playing and completing the Horizon Wilds Expedition, which will have you race into the jungle to a long-abandoned airport in search of Ramiro's equipment. Once you find his notes, the Barn Find will be revealed to you (and will be included in the mission area. While you can leave the Expedition here and come back later, you can actually go and find the XJR-15 Sport while playing the Expedition, as you can see in the above screenshot. The 1991 Jaguar XJR-15 Sport does appear to take a little longer to restore than other Barn Finds.

1962 Ferrari 250 GTO

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

No Forza Horizon Barn Finds list is complete without at least one legendary Ferrari, and FH5 is no exception. The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO is a gorgeous race car with immaculate lines, and players can add the vehicle to their garage by finding its remains in a Barn Find. I spotted the Ferrari 250 GTO while driving around the Horizon Apex Festival site, and didn't notice any special requirements in order to unlock it.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 250 GTO Barn Find straddles the space between coast-adjacent forests and farmlands, so it's pretty easy to find (especially if you use the Drone to speed things along). Once you come across the 250 GTO Barn Find, however, be prepared for an extremely long wait. The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO takes significantly longer to restore than any other Barn Find, to the point where it was the very last Barn Find to be restored for me, despite being the fourth to be found.

1968 Renault 4L Export

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1968 Renault 4L Export is another piece of interesting Mexican car history. Rather than a lavish supercar or aggressive off-roading monster, the 4L Export simply represents a time when Mexico banned import vehicles and had to build them in-house instead. This Barn Find can be particularly annoying to find, if you don't know what you're looking for, since it doesn't come from exploration, Expeditions, or Horizon Stories.

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Location (Image credit: Windows Central)

Source: Windows Central | Xbox Game Studios and Windows Central

In order to find unlock the Renault 4L Export Barn Find, you'll first need to purchase La Cabaña, one of the Forza Horizon 5 Player Houses. La Cabaña is available for purchase after building the Horizon Baja Festival site, and costs 150,000 in-game Credits. Once you purchase La Cabaña, a new Barn Find area will be revealed on your map in the vicinity. Track it down to the location above and you'll find the 1968 Renault 4L Export inside, which doesn't take long to restore.

1993 Toyota T100 #1 Baja Truck

The 1993 Toyota T100 #1 Baja Truck is another Barn Find that requires a little extra work to reveal, but at least it's an appropriate path to do so. In order to find this extreme off-roading vehicle, you'll need to scale La Gran Caldera while it's actively erupting to conduct research and in general have a lot of fun. While you're doing that, you'll spot a brand-new Barn Find from the volcano's peak, which will later reveal itself to be the T100 #1 Baja Truck.

You'll need to complete the Baja Expedition to find the Toyota T100 #1 Baja Truck, which (appropriately) establishes the Horizon Baja Festival site and all of its fantastic dirt races. The T100 #1 Baja Truck Barn Find will be pretty close to the Festival Site, and is in an absolutely gorgeous location. Once you have the 1993 Toyota T100 #1 Baja Truck in hand, it shouldn't take too long to restore it.

1989 Ferrari F40 Competizione

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1989 Ferrari F40 Competizione is another legendary race car in the Forza Horizon 5 Barn Finds list, and means that Ferrari has secured two out of 15 spots. I spotted the F40 Competizione near the Rush Expedition, which unlocks the PR Stunt-focused Horizon Rush Festival site. There doesn't appear to be any special requirements to unlock it other than time and vicinity.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

Despite the nearby Expedition building an outpost in the canyon biome, the F40 Competizione Barn Find is buried in the jungle on the other side of the map. This made it a little tricky to find, even with the drone, due to the thick foliage and surrounding trees. Fortunately, you can use the above map to help pinpoint the exact location. The 1989 Ferrari F40 Competizione did take a while to restore, but not nearly as long as the other Ferrari Barn Find.

1953 Chevrolet Corvette

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1953 Chevrolet Corvette is the oldest Barn Find in Forza Horizon 5, and it's definitely one of the cooler cars for fans of American muscle. Fortunately, it's also pretty easy to find. I spotted the Corvette while driving around the Horizon Street Scene Festival site, and didn't notice any unique requirements for unlocking this particular Barn Find.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

Situated squarely in farmland territory, the Chevy Corvette was also pretty easy to find, but there is some tree coverage that can make it hard to spot from a distance. Once you've picked up the 1953 Chevrolet Corvette, it shouldn't take an abnormal amount of time to restore it and get it back on the road — 68 years after it first rolled off the factory floor (but, you know, in video game form).

1999 Dodge Viper GTS ACR

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1999 Dodge Viper GTS ACR is another sports car, this time featuring an aggressively powerful engine, and lives close to the only Festival site this car could ever realistically be useful at: the road racing Horizon Apex Festival. I spotted this Barn Find while driving around the aforementioned Festival site, and was directed to once again dive into the crowded jungle in order to find it.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The jungle is a great place to hide things, which is probably why so many Barn Finds are stashed there. It was a little tricky to track down the Viper GTS ACR at first, but using the drone made short work of it. Once you find the 1999 Dodge Viper GTS ACR Barn Find, it may take a little longer to restore it, but you won't have to wait nearly as long as some of the other sports cars on this list.

1973 BMW 2002 Turbo

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo gives players a small but sporty sedan, capable of doing some serious speed if outfitted properly. Of course, it wasn't in any condition to do anything when I found it, after spotting its Barn Find while driving between the La Gran Caldera volcano and the canyon biome. I didn't notice any special requirements for discovering this Barn Find.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The BMW 2002 Turbo Barn Find was nestled in a place where several hills met, making it almost impossible to see from a distance. However, sparse surrounding coverage makes it easy to spot with the drone, if the above map still isn't specific enough. Once you unlock the 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo, it shouldn't take long at all to restore it and get it ready for whatever you want to do with it.

1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS joins the Ford Racing Escort and BMW 2002 Turbo by situating itself near La Gran Caldera. Considering how imposing this volcano is over the entirety of FH5's map, this is understandable. Driving the incredible Porsche 918 Spider, I spotted this Barn Find while driving through the area and was able to find it in no time. There does not appear to be any special requirements to unlock this Barn Find.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 911 Carrera 2.7 RS Barn Find isn't surrounded by too much and sits at a higher elevation, so it's quite easy to find. Once you've recovered the long-abandoned 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS from its dilapidated home, it may take a little longer to restore, but it's pretty reasonable.

1968 Dodge Dart Hemi Super Stock

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1968 Dodge Dart Hemi Super Stock has been in the Forza franchise for ages, and is a semi-surprising addition to the FH5 Barn Finds list. Regardless, this customizable and varied muscle car's Barn Find was spotted while driving around the nearby ruins of Teotihuacán. Like the other final Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 5, I didn't notice any unique requirements in order to discover it.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

Once you've unlocked the Dodge Dart's Barn Find, it's relatively easy to find. It's still hovering near the Teotihuacán ruins and doesn't have a ton of coverage behind which to hide. After you've discovered the decaying American classic stashed away in its barn, it doesn't take long at all to restore the 1968 Dodge Dart Hemi Super Stock. Again, you'll probably add this car to your collection before the Ferrari 250 GTO.

1956 Ford F-100

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1956 Ford F-100 is a legendary pickup truck, and its an understandable part of Forza Horizon 5's Barn Find program. I spotted the Ford F-100 while driving around the Horizon Street Scene Festival site, and it was just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the aforementioned location. As far as I can tell, there are not any strange circumstances that need to be met to unlock this Barn Find.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

Once again, the Barn Find's proximity to the comparatively flat and clear farmlands meant the F-100 was pretty easy to find in the area. Once you've found the Barn Find, it shouldn't take too long to fully restore the 1956 Ford F-100 and return it to its former glory.

1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback

Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find Screenshot

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback is the final Barn Find I came across, and is a legendary model of one of the most well-known cars in the world (especially in North America). This sleek Ford Mustang is yet another American car that found its way to Mexico, which makes sense given the countries' proximity to each other. There didn't appear to be any abnormal requirements for discovering the Ford Mustang Barn Find, and I still found it right before entering the Hall of Fame.

Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central)

The Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback returns to the canyon biome, and can be a little tricky to find with the sporadic elevation and dense tree coverage. Using a drone here (or referring to the above map) helps a lot when finding it. Once you uncover the 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback, it may take slightly longer than some other Barn Finds, but it's still a pretty easy restoration process.
