On January 5, 2026, Microsoft announced that it will be partnering with Hisense to bring the Xbox App to Hisense and V homeOS-powered Smart TVs sometime during 2026.
With this software enabled for Hisense's TVs, gamers who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, regardless of whether they're on the Essential, Premium, or Ultimate tiers, can stream hundreds upon hundreds of Xbox titles via Xbox Cloud Gaming on them.
According to Xbox Wire, Microsoft says that it will share more details about how the Xbox App's integration with Hisense TVs will work in the coming months, so you will need to stay tuned to Xbox Wire and Microsoft's social media platforms for further updates.
With controversial price hikes for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S consoles costing more due to the RAM crisis, and $80 AAA Xbox titles driving players towards cheaper budget titles, people are looking for ways to enjoy their favorite Xbox games without breaking their bank.
With this in mind, Xbox Cloud Gaming is fast-becoming one of the most affordable methods for gaming in 2026, whether people like it or not.
This is because you don't need an Xbox console to use Xbox Cloud Gaming, as you can access it on your phones, laptops, Smart TVs, desktop PCs, or any other device capable of connecting to the internet and running an internet browser.
Now that Xbox Apps are coming to Hisense TVs, this will open up a new, cheaper avenue for people to play Xbox titles if they can't afford an Xbox Series X|S.
However, the quality of which you will be able stream games via Xbox Cloud Gaming will depend on your Xbox Game Pass subscription. Essential and Premium subscribers will be able to stream games at 720p or 1080p resolutions, whilst Ultimate subscribers will be able to stream games at 1440p.
Will this partnership with Hisense help Microsoft convince more people sign up for Xbox Game Pass and experience the Xbox's vastly Cloud gaming ecosystem? We'll have to wait to find out.
