Fallout Season 3 just added one of the best actors from my favorite TV show to its cast, and I'm ecstatic — Amazon and Bethesda can't bring it fast enough

While video game adaptations in film or TV are often quite disappointing, one incredibly enjoyable outlier these past few years has been the Fallout TV show that Amazon's been producing in collaboration with Fallout shepherd Bethesda. Both Season 1 and Season 2 have been a massive hit with longtime fans of the franchise and series newcomers alike, and have brought about not one, but two resurgences for the IP.

Indeed, it's no exaggeration to say that the record-breaking and chart-topping show has had a phenomenal reception — and now, everyone is eagerly awaiting the next chapter of the story that's coming with Season 3. The third season reportedly just began filming and is expected to come near the end of 2027 or the start of 2028.

Paul was nothing short of terrific in Breaking Bad and El Camino, to the point where Jesse Pinkman became my favorite character out of all of the incredibly written individuals in that series. I've also loved him in just about everything else I've ever seen him in, so I'm ecstatic to see what role he plays in Fallout.

Some fans speculate that he could play Courier 6, the title of the playable character you control in Obsidian Entertainment's fan-favorite 2010 title Fallout: New Vegas; I personally find this unlikely since the showrunners have stated they don't want to infringe upon player choices with their story, and making Courier 6 a defined character in any way would go against that. Unless the character just makes a short cameo, I don't see it.

In the end, we have no details at all to work off of, so any predictions are pure guesses. Still, I'm sure Paul will do an amazing job in whatever role he's playing, given his talent. I look forward to seeing him in Fallout Season 3, and I can't wait for its arrival in the next year and a half or so.

Oh, and fun fact: Aaron Paul is a huge fan of video games, and has previously discussed his fondness for franchises like Resident Evil and Halo. He also had a lead role in 2025's narrative adventure game Dispatch, and has expressed interest in further gaming roles too.

What do you think about Aaron Paul? Are you a fan of his performances in projects like Breaking Bad and Westworld? Did you like him in Dispatch, if you played that game? Who do you think he'll be in the Fallout TV show? Let me know in the comments, and in our poll.
