Gears 5 is an upcoming third-person shooter from Microsoft's The Coalition. The studio has worked on Gears of War 4 in the past, and it wants to make the sequel an even bigger adventure. The title is also more advanced on a technical front. According to Gears 5's Multiplayer Design Director, the franchise will feature 60 Hz servers for the first time.
At Gamescom 2019, The Coalition revealed the game's new Horde mode which adds unique gameplay features and the Ultimate Abilities. However, during Gamescom 2019 Opening Night Live, the team revealed footage from the campaign. I have to say, it looks amazing!
The campaign focuses on a two-sided story. The first part of the plot focuses on the war going on on the planet of Sera. The other focuses on Kait as she struggles to come to terms with her connection to the Locust invaders. The Coalition's Studio Head, Rod Fergusson, said that it's the biggest and best campaign to date.
However, the highlight has to be the fact that it features three-player co-op. It seems like you can play with three friends on the sale console. As a result of its gameplay and features, the title also won the Gamescom 2019 Award for Best Xbox One Game.
