The RAM crisis continues to worsen as Microsoft has recently announced a shocking price hike on all its Surface PCs and laptops, making them $500 more expensive than when they first launched.
Thankfully, the Microsoft Surface Laptop (7th Edition) has received a timely 38% discount for $1049.99 at Best Buy, so casual and professional users can enjoy one of Microsoft's best laptops while avoiding this horrific price hike.
"Microsoft's Surface Laptop 7 is the clamshell form factor perfected. With a gorgeous new design, incredible keyboard and trackpad, smooth 120Hz display, good all-day battery life, and excellent Snapdragon X Elite processor under the hood, this is the laptop to beat in 2024." ~ Zac Bowden, Senior Editor.

Why buy the Microsoft Surface Laptop (7th Edition)?
First off, this configuration of the Microsoft Surface Laptop (7th Edition) is built with a Snapdragon Elite X CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.
All this hardware works extremely well in conjunction with one another to help give this laptop insanely fast processing power to run apps like Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop smoothly, load up websites with minimal loading times, and store and transfer files in a snap.
Its sublime performance rates also apply to AI-related tasks, as this Copilot+ PC also has an NPU at 45 TOPS, giving it the power to run apps like Recall, Cocreator, and Windows Studio Effects with ease.
Of course, all this processing power won't mean much if you don't have a pretty screen with clear resolution to look at while working. Thankfully, the Microsoft Surface has a stunning 13.8-inch LCD Touchscreen display with 2304 x 1536 resolution, 120Hz refresh rates, and 600 nits of max brightness.
On top of that, this laptop has 20 hours of battery life, an elegant, ultra-thin design, and a weight of 3.65 lbs to make it easier for travel.
In short, this is one of the best Windows laptops we've ever had the fortune to cover, and it's a crying shame that its $1,699 MSRP is going to be raised higher thanks to Microsoft's price hike announcement.
But with this $1,049.99 discount at Best Buy, you will be able to escape this RAM-Crisis-induced price jump for a little while, and get one of the best laptops around in the process.

FAQs
Does all software work on Microsoft Surface Laptop 7th Edition (2024)?
Not all software works on this laptop. ARM64 apps and many legacy x86-64 apps work on it, the latter using PRISM emulation. However, older x86 software and apps that require low-level drivers, specialized antivirus, and anti-cheat measures may struggle or not work at all.
How does the laptop's Copilot+ AI work?
Copilot+ works by combining advanced generative AI models with a special piece of hardware called a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to perform AI-related tasks locally and in the cloud without entirely relying on internet connections for performance boosts.
Is it good for gaming?
While the Microsoft Surface Laptop (7th Edition) has fast performance rates for productivity tasks, the Snapdragon X Elite is still capable of a little gaming with expectations kept in check.
Lighter titles will be fine, and even some more demanding ones, with Microsoft's Auto SR upscaler on hand to help out. Games with anti-cheat that require kernel access, such as Call of Duty and Valorant, do not work.
