Your desk setup is a literal pain in the arm — I've used the Logitech MX Vertical for years and it’s finally $40 off

If your wrists hurt and your arms get tired when sitting at your desk, you need to look at your accessories. Swapping to an ergonomic mouse can reduce wrist strain and help you get work done without feeling as fatigued.

Here's a quick exercise you can do. Sit upright in your desk chair or stand with good posture at your standing desk. Now gently shake your hands to relax your wrists. Finally, lower your arms so your hands rest on your desk with your thumbs generally pointed upward.

Why buy the Logitech MX Vertical mouse?

Before diving into the mouse, I want to break down the current deal. At $79.99, the Logitech MX Vertical is at a good price, but not its best price ever. It generally hovers in price between $80 and $90, though there are dips and spikes outside that range.

Many sales on the Logitech MX Vertical stopped last summer, making the current discount worth taking advantage of. If Best Buy runs out of stock or you prefer a different retailer, Amazon and Logitech have the same mouse for $79.99 as well.

A lot of research went into the Logitech MX Vertical. Logitech went through "dozens of prototypes" and tested them in "hundreds of hands," according to the company.

Logitech claims that using its MX Vertical mouse results in:

  • 10% less muscle strain
  • Reduced wrist pressure
  • 4 times less hand movement

But do all those tests and prototypes result in real-world comfort? They certainly have for me. I've used the Logitech MX Vertical as my primary mouse for years.

Since picking up my Logitech MX Vertical near the end of 2022, I've used the mouse for thousands of hours each year, and it's barely aged at all. The buttons are still clicky, the grooves are still textured, and the mouse is as responsive as ever.

It's somewhat surprising that Logitech has not made a Logitech MX Vertical 2 or refined the mouse, but that's just because it's so normal to see accessories receive iterative refinements.

I honestly can't think of a thing I'd change about the Logitech MX Vertical. I dislike having to use other mice because I've been spoiled by the Logitech MX Vertical.

When I use other mice, my arm feels like it's at the wrong angle and my wrist has to twist to rest on flat mice.

I normally take the Logitech MX Vertical with me when I travel, even if I'm visiting somewhere with a hotdesk or another mouse available.

If you're wrestling with a flat, traditional mouse while dealing with wrist pain and fatigue, do yourself a favor and upgrade your desk. I've used the Logitech MX Vertical for thousands of hours and it’s the only piece of hardware on my desk that I wouldn’t change a single thing about.

For $79.99, you're getting an ergonomic mouse at a reasonable price. Your arm will thank you.
