"Microsoft, Gaming and Libations" is a live show hosted on Microsoft's streaming network, Mixer, featuring Jez Corden, Zac Bowden, Daniel Rubino, and Matt Brown from Windows Central.
This week, we'll be diving back into the multiplayer mode of Star Wars Battlefront II – the second iteration of Electronic Arts' Star Wars shooter series. Battlefront II has been mired in controversy for its progression systems which can be circumvented with real money, but the core essence of great shooter exists here, if EA ever wants to dig it out of the backlash it created.
Our MGL live streams take place every week on Thursdays, at 4 PM ET (1 PM PT, 9 PM GMT). You can find the start time based on your location and time zone in our event announcer.
Tonight, we'll be giving away several Xbox One X Enhanced games to lucky followers of our Mixer channel LIVE during the stream. Halo 5: Guardians, Halo 3, and ReCore: Definitive Edition will be up for grabs.
- We'll use a raffle system to make sure we're giving keys to people who aren't AFK.
- You must be following the channel to be eligible. The raffle will ignore users who aren't following!
- We'll give game codes throughout for followers only!
Star Wars Battlefront II was shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of 2017, improving upon almost every aspect of the original. Changes across the multiplayer make for a more competitive experience, with a class-based loadout system. It's just a shame that EA decided to incentivize players to skip the progression systems with real money, but DICE has disabled them in the meantime, following the backlash. We'll just have to wait and see.
Battlefront II is also offer the first full-fledged single-player campaign for the series, with a canon story that ties directly into the movies. Following "Inferno Squad," the game explores a narrative based around the Empire, bridging the gap between "Return of the Jedi" and "The Force Awakens." The game released on November 17, 2017.
For now, all you need to do is head to our Mixer channel at Mixer.com/windowscentral and follow! When the stream begins, jump in on the live chat.
We'll also field some questions from the audience, so, even if you already subscribe to the service, sign up for Mixer and come pester us about the Surface Phone!
For those curious, we're aiming for a 90-minute air time, but honestly, we have no idea how long it will go. So grab a drink and join in on the fun to find out!
