PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) getting a fourth, snow-based map (update)

Updated January 22, 2019: PUBG's snow map is now available on Xbox One.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is continuing its path to a full release on Xbox One and at the Microsoft E3 press conference some more information was laid out for chicken dinner fans.

Not only is the smaller 4x4 map, Sanhok, joining the rotation this summer, Microsoft's event revealed that there is a fourth map in development based in a snow environment.

Sanhok has been in development on PC for a while now and has recently entered its final stage of testing before joining the live servers. The smaller map size prompts faster paced, shorter length matches, and seems a perfect fit for the console.

Also coming to the Xbox One version of PUBG is war mode, a deathmatch style experience, and the event also debuted the world premiere of the ballistic shield, designed for quick-cover and close-combat attacks.

PUBG for Xbox One is currently available in Game Preview for $19.99.
