Quantum Break pre-order bonus codes for Windows 10 will arrive in waves starting April 13th (Update)

Phil Spencer offered an update on Twitter, stating that the Quantum Break pre-order Windows 10 keys will now begin going out on April 13th in waves. Original article below.

We reached out to Microsoft to ask how and when they would honor their pre-order promise. If you pre-ordered the Xbox One version of Quantum Break from Microsoft or participating retailers, your Quantum Break Windows 10 key will arrive via a Xbox Live message, redeemable via the Windows 10 Store by April 15th.

"Download codes for the Windows 10 version of "Quantum Break" are in the process of being distributed to customers who pre-ordered a digital copy of "Quantum Break" for Xbox One through the Xbox Store and participating retailers. Codes will arrive by April 15 via a system message over Xbox Live that includes a 5x5 redemption code for the Windows 10 version of the game."

You can access your Xbox Live messages on a Windows 10 PC by opening the Xbox app, selecting the messages tab on the social pane on the right-hand side of the app. Once you have the 25 character key, you can then head over here to attach the license to your Microsoft Account (opens in new tab).

If you want to take advantage of Quantum Break's cloud save syncing across Xbox One and PC, you need to ensure that you're using the same Microsoft Account attached to your Xbox One and your Windows 10 PC.

In our review, I described Quantum Break as the Xbox One's first true killer app, while also noting that it pushed the console to its technical limit. The PC version of Quantum Break has pretty high recommended specs, but if your PC is up to the task, it should deliver an even more stunning experience than it does on console.

Did you pick up Quantum Break on PC? What are your impressions so far? Let us know in the comments.

  • I won't play my version. Maybe I will just give it away.
  • Can i have it? Please!
  • I'll take it
  • I can take it with pleasure.
  • Really?
  • let the ebay selling begin :D
  • Give it away on pcmasterace reddit or something or ... I can also happily take it off ur hands ;)
  • Can I have it? I got excited for the game but couldn't afford it and I'm not sure whether I should buy it or not when I can
  • It ain't raining Quantum Break Codes..
  • Hahaha..
  • Finally, already finished and enjoyed this great game on Xbox One, i got all the achievement either, so between that and the fact tht this PC port isn't that good at all, i'm gonna sell my code on eBay
  • You got downvoted(I will too) but what you said is correct, the PC port is a giant hunk of junk.
  • sweet i will keep my code. i might use it when i get a better pc one day.
  • Is that a Lumia in his hand?
  • Yes, the characters use lumia phones and surface tablets.
  • Hmm. Is this a Microsoft game?
  • Yes, the game is published by Microsoft, and they own the IP. Remedy developed the game
  • Ok I see
  • Do they really own the IP? I hope not.
  • Why not? Posted from Windows Central for Windows 10
  • Well the last IP Remedy lost was Max Payne. I'm pretty sure they are regretting that now, considering that the metacharacter of Alex Casey that they used in Alan Wake and Quantum Break is basically him. It's like giving away your child. And all these characters are hinted to be based in the same universe. They would be chopping up this universe into pieces.
  • Remedy won't lose QB. It was built for Microsoft. It won't be on PS4. Ever.
  • And drive Nissans
  • I thought that was a great idea. Nice to see some Windows Phone love.
  • These are Nokia branded phones right? If so its most likely Nokia Elop time deal considering how long this game was in the making.
  • So if we preordered a hard copy from Amazon....we are out of luck?
  • That's what u get for buying physical hard discs. Worthless pieces of plastics.
  • A) No need to be a jerk and B) He has the option to sell the game once he's done with it and put that money towards another one, so it's hardly worthless.
  • Wow. This community is unbelievable.
  • It's the internet
  • I ordered one, now I have 4 Xbox one's in my house Posted via Windows Central app for Windows 10!
    Proudly rocking my Lumia 1520!
  • I just got Alan Wake American nightmare, but not Alan wake and pc QB first lol. I don't wanna run thru this game without playing the first one.
  • I also got American Nightmare even though I wasn't supposed to. I already got it from Amazon, because that's where I preordered. Now I have 2 x American Nightmare. WTF Microsoft...
  • QB is my GOTY for now. Awesome game.
  • Not for nothing but sending out these codes 10 days after launch defeats the purpose of cross-saves. By then everyone that preordered would have beaten the game.
  • You receive them BY April 15th. I assume that means some have already received them
  • No one has received them yet. That's what this article is saying and that's what promoted them to inquire. Personally I'm almost done with the game (totally amazing) and I have yet to receive my code.
  • Ah I see, so its kind of like a low-key timed exclusive. Feels that way. It's just them enticing people to experience it on Xbox.
  • Some already have it and not everybody plays straight through like us "hardcore" gamers.
Of course it's preferred though to have it same day I cut them some slack considering it's their first go at this cross purchase feature. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Is the Windows 10 version really that bad? Posted from Windows Central for Windows 10
  • Eurogamer did some benchmarking on it. Apparently it is that bad. I still wanna see for myself, but that damn code hasn't arrived yet.
  • I've been watching live streams of it by reliable people and it looks fine to my. Beat it on Xbox One and incredibly fun! Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Anyone wanna share a code?
  • Will be selling mine for cheap...pc version here in India is priced way too high.
  • Also waiting for my Alan Wake Code got the American Nightmare but not the orignal! Any news on this Windows Cental
  • It's because the age rating was different, so they couldn't bundle it. You won't get it, ever.
  • OH FFS that's annoying people who got a physical copy have in the in the box
  • Not true. You get Alan Wake regardless. Same age. It was American Nightmare that was the issue. These things take time, we just gotta sit tight. I'm still waiting too.
  • yeah, no worries QB keeping me busy
  • Mine just hit my xbox in box
  • Why are people shocked u don't get a digital copy of a game u bought the hard copy for. Why so u can sell it when it done and still own the game. 99.9 of companies wouldn't allow this. You could buy the Xbox version sell it back immediately for $40 and still own the $60 digits pc. Yea never gonna happen
  • Microsoft is dropping the ball on PC titles. First Gears of War UE and now this. Hard to say if this is just a case of a product rushed to the market or a deliberate attempt at selling XBOnes at the expense of PC performance and support.
  • That's fine, but any word on the Alex Wake games, I haven't gotten anything.
Quantum Break is Fantastic btw! Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • A bit late since I got 100% achievements by Wednesday
  • but if your PC is up to the task, it should deliver an even more stunning experience than it does on console.
No pc is currently "up to the task", because the PC version is fundamentally broken, thanks to both UWP and being a laziest possible port. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-what-went-wrong-wi...
  • Just received my Alan Wake codes today Woot!
Quantum Break is an awesome game, I highly recommend playing it! Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • I still haven't received my copy yet. Has anyone else?
  • I am not in a rush but, this is the reason I pre ordered the game. 15 days since I ordered the game and no code is forthcoming. Phone support is a complete waste for the most part and that website is like everyone hooping into a metal pail and yelling at each other. *Sigh* It is not like I payed for this, right? /sarcasm
  • Still waiting for mine also.
