Sketchable 3 brings a revamped user experience to the Windows Store
By Rich Edmonds published

Sketchable is a feature rich drawing app for Windows and has been available for a good few years. The app has just been updated to version 3.0, which introduces a revamped UI and much more. If you're looking for a solution with a host of drawing tools and even PSD exports, you'll definitely want to check out Sketchable 3.0.
The latest release of the app brings with it monochromatic icons, allowing the sketcher to really customize how the UI is to get the most out of available screen real estate. But as well as that, the team behind the app has implemented a bunch of new features:
Premium
- Symmetry – toggle between one or two axis and position them anywhere on the canvas.
- Masks – Choose a shape and mark off a section of the canvas that is protected from edit.
- Stencils – Snap to shapes for crisp lines and fluid curves
- Paint Bucket – Quickly fill any section of the canvas
- Layers,
- up to 32
- 34 Blend Modes
- Adjustable background Color
- Brush Engine Improvements
- Bitmap Tips and Textures
- Import & export
- Additional Controls
- Drag & Drop - drag a file directly onto the window, drop it, and start editing
- Share direct to Facebook
Standard
- Modern UI
- Monochromatic Icons
- Customizable Grayscale selection for Overlays and backdrop
- Nondestructive Viewing filters
- Mirror canvas to get a different perspective on your work to judge the balance of the composition or simply to overcome handiness bias.
- X-Ray Specs - peek through the obscuring layers onto the layer being altered
- Tonal filter - Get a feel for the tonal balance of your work.
- Three texture pots
- 2 universal & one tuned for the current preset
- Color pots are now stored with the document
- Color Picker Controls
- RGB & HSV
- Full Screen Mode
- Use natural handwriting recognition to name Journals and Pages with DirectInk
Overall, it's an impressive update and one we're sure those with creativity will enjoy on their Windows-powered tablets. Sketchable is available for free with in-app purchases available.

Will definitely try it out.
-
Brilliant app. Paid for it straight up, after testing all the pen based drawing programs when I got my first Surface.
-
nice.. now if only I had money for a surface book lol
-
Is this app build on UWP?
-
I don't think so but generally its not the sort of app you would want to use on a phone. When there is pen support on the phone might be a great reason to convert to UWP.
-
I don't know about that...the adobe apps (even drawing ones) are really good on phones and ipads. I would love to have them for w10m

Great!
-
Definitely checking this out, looking for a decent app to use with my H420.
-
We need it in Windows mobile
-
How does it compare to Mischief?
-
Mischief's standout feature is its 'infinite zoom' which you're not going to get here.
