What you need to know

  • The Surface Pro 7 is available for preorder on Amazon.
  • The Surface Pro 7 sports a number of different configurations starting at $750 (opens in new tab).
  • The Surface Pro 7 is expected to launch on October 22.

If Amazon is your retailer of choice, the online marketplace now has the new Surface Pro 7 available for preorder. Pricing for Microsoft's latest hybrid tablet starts at $750, but can run north of $2,000 depending on the configuration.

For 2019, the Surface Pro 7 has been upgraded with Intel's new 10th Gen "Ice Lake" processors. Along with the processor bump, Microsoft has added a USB-C port to the package. This update also sees the introduction of fast charging to allow the Surface Pro 7 to be charged up to 80 percent in under an hour.

The models available start at 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You can equip the Surface Pro 7 with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage in either platinum or matte black.

As of this writing, Amazon's pricing for each model appears to be borked, with some low-end models being priced higher than intended, and other high-end models having a lower price than intended.

The Surface Pro 7 is expected to launch alongside the Surface Laptop 3 on October 22.

  • Take a look at Amazon's pre-order pricing. You can get the Platinum i7, 16GB RAM, and 1TB HDD for $1,199! That's $1,100 cheaper than anywhere else! Heck, they have the Matte Black i7, 16GB RAM, and 512GB HDD for $899.
  • They only ship in the US, damn. What a great deal, and they still haven't fixed it!
  • I think they have the prices on the i5/8/256 and i7 swapped.... May have to try this one and see if they take it back.
  • Shhhh!!!!! Lets not mention this- keep it secret. Amazon should honor their mistake.
  • I actually ordered the Matte Black i7, 16GB RAM, and 512GB HDD for $899 last night as the prices were still up. Now when I click the link on my order page, it takes me to the i5 128GB version. I've made screenshots of my order and printed my invoice, so I'll check with them around the 20th to see if they'll honor the price on this configuration. Doubt it, though...
  • same here! i am hoping for them to honor it, it would be great customer service!!
  • I hope that if they don't honor the pricing (which I don't reasonably expect they will), that they will cancel the order instead of shipping something else. When I click on my order I get the i5/8/256, which is what I intended to order in the first place, but I get it in black, whereas I want the platinum version.
  • I just pre ordered 3 matte black 16gb 512gb at 900 each. Hope they honor the pricing. Sell 2 get 1 for free :)
  • For the people hoping, it's highly unlikely that they are going to honour the pricing.
