New Windows Phone 8X by HTC Verizon advertisement published

Verizon has published a new video on its YouTube channel, an advertisement for the new Windows Phone 8X by HTC. The title "Ummm/Ohh" pretty much sums up the entire commercial, which we expect to see on the big screen shortly with the launch of the Windows Phone already in full effect.

Verizon HTC 8X delayed until Nov 27th

Nokia is not the only game in town when it comes to Windows Phone 8 as HTC is doing an admirable job with their Windows Phone 8X offering. And although Verizon began selling both the Lumia 822 and 8X this week, it appears that these phones are in tight supply.

Nokia Lumia 920 and the World's fastest screen

The centerpiece of the Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone is the 4.5" PureMotion HD+ screen. But did you know the Lumia 920 has the fastest screen on a smartphone?

The result is crisper graphics and less blurring while scrolling around the screen or playing games.

Verizon ditches Group Messaging on Windows Phone

With the same phone launching on many carriers, we sometimes get an illustration of how carriers configure things differently. Sometimes they do it for financial reasons, other times because of network compatibility. We're not sure which 'Group Messaging' falls under but evidently if you're on Verizon, you are surrendering that feature as compared to your AT&T, T-Mobile or unlocked brethren.

Lumia 920 sold out at Expansys UK, tops chart with HTC 8X closely behind

The Lumia 920 will be required to be rationed soon if Nokia can't produce enough to meet demand. We've seen retailers and carriers run out of initial stock. Whether this is down to high demand, limited stock or both, we're not sure but the Lumia 920 is proving to be a popular choice if the Exspansys UK Top 20 chart is anything to go by.

Nokia Lumia 820: First Impressions

Windows Phone 8 continues to provide us with new devices. While much attention has been given over to the Lumia 920, the 820 has some compelling features and specs that should appeal to many. Sharing some key specifications with the higher end Windows Phone 8 devices along with options for wireless charging and expandable storage it’s certainly worth a look.

Verizon HTC 8X orders delayed, offers 30 percent off any case as a token of appreciation

Verizon is still yet to begin shipping HTC 8X orders, and according to emails received by a handful of our readers who have kindly forwarded copies to us, there's a slight delay. The carrier is stocking both the HTC 8X and Lumia 822 Windows Phone 8 handsets in its smartphone line-up (with the Samsung Odyssey coming in the future).

Because the HTC 8X is slightly behind schedule Verizon is offering 30% off any case in its store as a token of appreciation while consumers wait patiently for their Windows Phones to arrive. Both devices are officially being made available tomorrow in stores across the US.

Verizon HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 822 available in stores tomorrow, Nov 15th [Poll]

Verizon has just posted what was tacitly known already: Tomorrow, new Windows Phone 8 devices will finally go on sale in stores and online.

We reported last night how pre-order shipments had already left their facilities, heading to people's homes for delivery tomorrow. Now, Verizon Wireless has posted that the HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 822 will both be available in stores tomorrow for immediate purchase. Of course like all releases, they are caveats: the grey Lumia 822 and red 8X will only be available online...

Windows Phone 8 version 10141 caught on Lumia 920 development device

From our perspective, Windows Phone 8 is interesting for numerous reasons: new kernel, over-the-air updates and a re-commitment by Microsoft in making sure the OS stays competitive. In that sense, knowing that a new version of the OS is floating around, especially one for an odd market like China (who have many restrictions) is far from shocking.

T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 810 unboxing and video tour

Hey, look at that! The Nokia Lumia 810 exclusively for T-Mobile showed up on our doorstep and we decided to film us opening her up.

Now although Mobile Nations guru Phil Nickinson played with a dummy Lumia 810, yours truly has not had a chance to even touch one—so this will be my first “hands on” with T-Mobile’s new device. Off the cuff? The screen, even at 4.3” and 800x480 is really bold, bright and eye popping, due in part to some ClearBlack and an OLED display. It also blends seamlessly with that soft-touch black body, which feels quite nice to hold...
