Free trials for Unravel, Garden Warfare 2, and UFC 2 coming to Xbox One through EA Access

If you own an Xbox One and subscribe to the EA Access service, get ready to try out three upcoming Electronic Arts games before they are released. EA has posted a schedule of when the free trials for Unravel, Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2, and UFC 2 will be released.

Unravel, the quirky platform-style title, will get a free trial for EA Access members on February 5, five days ahead of its full release on February 10. Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is next, with its free trial to begin on February 18, ahead of its February 23 launch. If you want to play part of the multiplayer shooter even earlier, the open beta will begin in just a few days on January 14, which will last until January 18.

Finally, UFC 2, the next game in EA's mixed martial arts sports series, will get a free EA Access trial on March 10, ahead of its release on March 15. EA Access costs $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year for Xbox One owners and also includes 14 full older EA games that can be played for the price of the subscription, along with a 10% discount to purchase full digital EA games.

  • Looking forward to Unravel. Already preorderd and it's only $20!
  • I appreciate the news of the schedule of upcoming trials, but this is par for the course for ea access subscribers. Every trial debuts 5 days before release. I brt each one will be between 5-10 hours too. It'll be interesting how they handle Unravel's free trial though. Since it is a single player game that I imagine doesn't have the time investment that Dragon Age: Inquisition does...
  • I've already preordered unravel, I'm really looking forward to playing it.
  • Is EA access coming to ps4 or it is exclusive to x1.
  • Sony turned EA down when they offered so who knows.
  • X1 exclusive, as far as I'm aware ea original offered Ps ea access before the x1 but they turned it down.sorry no link
  • How can it be "free" if you have to subscribe to a service to use it?
  • Oh, the pedantry. Lets not travel down this well worn path. You know what they mean.
  • There was a time when you didn't had to pay for trials. Believe it or not :-) They could just put free trials into the Xbox store so everybody could play them. But no, they want people to pay for trials. This should not be ignored.
  • It's actually not a trial. You get full access to the entire game and you keep your achievements. If you can beat the game in 10hrs, good. I know some people don't like the subscription idea, but I really think it's an incredible deal.
  • EA access subscription is exactly what it claims to be, you are paying money to have ACCESS to it's vaulted games(such as the battlefields), and guess what you get as an added FREE bonus? 10 hours of unrestricted play on their new games 5 days before they are released. So this article is stated correctly...moving on...
  • The headline says "Free trials for Unravel, Garden Warfare 2, and UFC 2 coming to Xbox One through EA Access" but to be correct it maybe should say "Free trials for Unravel, Garden Warfare 2, and UFC 2 coming to EA Access for Xbox One". But that's not the point. As said before: once upon a time there were free trials of almost every game. And now you can't get them if you don't pay for EA Access. This is what I want to highlight. p.s.: I'm not even interested in playing any of the named games ;-)
  • It's not a trial! You get to play the ENTIRE retail release! In a trial, you only get a limited cut of the full game.
  • But they call it "trial", don't they?
  • Nope, it's called "game preview" officially.
  • We will have UFC2 cover or special edition for XboxOne like PS4?
  • Can't wait for Unravel! It is one game not heavily promoted but got me hyped from only 3 minutes of gameplay... Posted via the Windows Central App
  • Can't wait untill pvz gw2, its going to be awesome
  • mirror's edge catalyst?
  • I have EA Access. If I don't renew my subscription, do I get to keep the games I downloaded from the vault? I doubt I would.
  • Nope, you don't get to keep the games if your subscription ends.
  • I am going to try Unravel, looks like a lot of fun. I pre-oredered PvZ:GW2.  Can't wait to play the beta this week.  I really like EA Access.  Getting to play a game for a little while before release is awesome. It can help you decide if you want to buy the game or not.
  • Early Access should be called a BETA test. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
