Windows Phone Central Game Roundup: Games for all occasions

Windows Phone games are a great way to pass the time with. Whether it's waiting hours in the car tag line or just a few minutes before a class starts, there is a vast assortment of quality games available in the Windows Phone Store.  Some games are great for a quick gaming fix while others stand up to longer gaming sessiosn.

Then there's games that can cover all the bases, good for all occasions.  Entertaining for short bits and addictive enough to keep you entertained for more extended periods.

For this week's roundup, instead of picking three or four games, we focus on four developers/studios that have a respectable portfolio of Windows Phone games. Some of which that can hold their own for those short gaming sessions or the longer marathon sessions.  Along the way we'll spotlight a few of the titles offered by these developers and as always, if we've overlooked your favorite title feel free to sound off in the comments.

Sparkle 2 is the follow up Windows Phone 8 game to the 10tons hit Sparkle. The game picks up where the original leaves off with you in a battle against the darkness that is threatening to sweep across the lands.

Sparkle 2 shares the three gaming modes of the original and has over ninety unique levels in the Story Mode. You have over two hundred combinations of sixteen enhancements for your slinger and fantastic graphics.

Sparkle 2 is as entertaining of a game as the original and quite possibly a must have game for your Windows Phone 8 device.

Sparkle is another enjoyable puzzle/action game from 10tons that is a great way to pass short bits of time with or longer. It has a strong resemblance to Zuma but is strong enough to stand on its own. Graphics are a lot cleaner (less cartoony) and the pace of the game seems more challenging. Zuma is a fantastic game but Sparkle ain't no light weight.

The storyline to the game has you trying to banish Orbs of Darkness and save Crowberry Woods. In doing so you discover various amulets of power that will help you in your quest. Add three game modes, nice graphics and handful of in-game powerups and Sparkle turns out to be a really nice addition to our Windows Phone gaming library.

Windows Phone Central Game Roundup: 10tons
Windows Phone Central Roundup: 10tons Games

10tons isn't new to mobile gaming development with successful titles over on the Android and iOS stores. Over the past few weeks (or has it been months) 10tons has released a handful of games for the Windows Phone 8 platform that should be just as successful.

This week's roundup focuses on a handful of 10tons' games from the action/adventure to the challenging puzzle games.  Each game is uniquely challenging, has great graphics and a very nice addition to the Windows Phone Store.  Hopefully, what we can find now in the Windows Phone Store is but the start of a beautiful relationship between 10tons and the Windows Phone platform.
