Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the latest entry in the staple franchise which takes place hundreds of years before the establishment of the "Assassin's Brotherhood". According to Ubisoft — building upon the foundation of Assassin's Creed Origins — Assassin's Creed Odyssey takes player choice to the next level.

Whenever a new "AAA" game launches, numerous gamers want to know which console offers the better experience. While the answer is somewhat clear due to the Xbox One X's 1.8 teraflops advantage over the PlayStation 4 Pro, the exact resolution and nature of the upgrade is always interesting to discuss.

According to Digital Foundry, both consoles target native 4K resolution. However, the PlayStation 4 Pro version only achieves 1584p even when you're looking at the sky and there's very little going on. On the other hand, the Xbox One X achieves native 4K when you're looking at the sky or the game isn't generating a lot on screen. Both versions utilize dynamic scaling, but the PlayStation 4 Pro dips to 1242p and the Xbox One X only dips to 1644p.

The Xbox One X's 1644p is still a considerable boost over the PlayStation 4 Pro's highest 1584p count. This gives Microsoft's console a significant edge in terms of clarity. Apart from that, the console also boasts better effects. While no console can compare to a 4K 60 FPS PC presentation, the Xbox One X version still looks great.
