What you need to know

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is an upcoming first-person shooter from Activision.
  • It's coming to Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 at the end of October.
  • The game is available for pre-load on Xbox One and requires around 140 GB.
  • You can preorder Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for $60 through Amazon.

Updated October 17, 2019: It seems like the 45 GB was only part of the download because now, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is taking around 137 GB on Xbox One.

A few days ago, reports emerged that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may require 175 GB eventually on PC. It was unclear how much space the title required on Xbox One X, but now we have an answer. According to numerous posts on Reddit, the game is available for pre-load on the console.

We were able to verify this because our preorder began to download a few hours ago. There are a number of different downloads for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but the entire package comes in at a little over 45 GB. Since the game isn't live, it may reserve more hard drive space once you open it on October 25.

As always, be sure you have enough data left for the month before you begin to download Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on Xbox One. Many users in the United States, in particular, should check their data caps.
