What you need to know
- Xur sells Exotic items to players every weekend. He arrives on Friday and leaves Tuesday.
- Xur is at The Tower in the Hangar.
- Xur is selling the Tractor Cannon, Knucklehead Radar, Doom Fang Pauldrons, and Promethium Spur.
If you're looking to get your hands on some of the best Destiny 2 Exotic weapons and armor in the game, you should buy Exotics from Xur, the mysterious vendor from the Nine that comes to the world of Destiny 2 every Friday at 1 PM ET and leaves the following Tuesday at the same time. Every weekend, Xur sells an Exotic weapon, an Exotic armor piece for each class, and a special Fated Engram that's guaranteed to give you an Exotic you don't currently own (Exotics tied to quests or raids can't drop from these).
If you want to open more than one Fated Engram with Xur, you'll need to take the Exotic Cipher quest he offers and complete its objective. This will reward you with an Exotic Cipher that can be used to get another Exotic from Xur. Notably, you can also use the Exotic Cipher as a currency at the Monument to Lost Lights kiosk in The Tower that allows you to obtain Exotics from content that has been put into the Destiny Content Vault. This is how I recommend using the Cipher, though if you're a new player and don't have many Exotics yet, using it on a second Fated Engram is also a good idea so you can fill out your collection faster.
Xur's location changes every weekend, so players will need to find him in order to browse his Exotic wares. Right now, Xur is on The Tower in the Hangar. Refer to the green marker on the map below to see his location:

Xur's inventory also rotates weekly, allowing players to obtain several Exotics they may not have already. These Exotics also come with high stat rolls that are useful when crafting some of the best Destiny 2 builds. Here's what he's selling this week:
- Exotic Weapon: Tractor Cannon
- Titan Exotic: Doom Fang Pauldrons
- Hunter Exotic: Knucklehead Radar
- Warlock Exotic: Promethium Spur
Are you excited to pick up some Exotics from Xur this weekend? Let me know. The latest Destiny 2 expansion, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, is available now for $40 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. The upcoming The Witch Queen expansion that releases in February 2022 is also available to preorder for $40 as well. The base game is free, so if you're looking to try Destiny 2 out before paying for expansions or season passes, you can do so.
