Game of Thrones Episode 4: 'Sons of Winter' due May 26 for PC, May 27 for Xbox

The fourth episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones series, titled "Sons of Winter," now has an official release date of May 26 for PC and May 27 for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

What are the Forresters getting themselves up to in this episode? Telltale provided the following summary of the action:

In Episode 4, the fate of the scattered Forresters hangs in the balance, and no one allied with the family is safe. An unexpected meeting offers Rodrik a new opportunity to free Ironrath from its Whitehill stranglehold, but with young Ryon Forrester still held prisoner, his next moves are critical. Gared must abandon Castle Black and venture beyond the Wall in search of the mysterious North Grove, risking encounters with Wildlings and worse. In King's Landing, the population is reeling from a recent royal death, and Mira must step carefully in an increasingly complex game of politics where secrets are traded as currency. Far away in Essos, Asher infiltrates the slave city of Meereen at the behest of Daenerys Targaryen, but will the friendship he holds dear break under the strain of a mission that raises memories best forgotten?

Along with the release date announcement, Telltale also released a trailer for "Sons of Winter" that should stoke your excitement if you're an avid fan of the series. If you want to catch up on the series, you can snag each episode for $4.99 a piece on Xbox, or $24.99 for the whole shebang. On PC, you'll have to shell out $29.99 to pick up each episode as it is released.

  • First one to comment on the new layout?
  • Most overrated tv-show ever.
  • Yep
  • While I agree that the ending of the last episode was a bit over the top,it is infact a very well made show in my opinion. The 'valyrian stone men' scene was shot pretty well. Game of thrones deserves all the credit that it gets.
  • Rape show
  • Really. Sickening
  • Enjoying Tales from the Borderlands so much more. Unfortunately the gap between episodes has been 2x longer than the Game of Thrones episodes. Here's hoping for a June release on episode 3, bro bro
  • ;)
  • ;)
  • Sons of anarchy
  • Fan of the show but don't really care for the game much. None of your choices have any impact on the story and you can never win any battles either. Only horrible things happen to your family. Eventually you'll find yourself only picking defiance as your option. Since telltale is hell-bent on punishing your family anyway, you might as well have some spine. Avoid this one, it's their worst yet, in my opinion.
  • As long as telltale doesn't start adding unecessary rape scenes for shock value
  • But if show continues you to have unnecessary baby murders (season 2), castrations, head crushing, and general gratuitous violence that's ok?
Hell Deanerys was raped when she married Drogo no one kicked off about that. Stop jumping on the band wagon and work out what show this is.
If you want to rage against a show how about the infant dismemberment from Penny Dreadful series 2?
  • Oh god, the baby scene in Penny Dreadful was tough to witness.
  • Except all of those things advanced the story. The writers of the show literally changed a huge plotline just so they could write a scene where a young girl gets raped and made it as graphic and uncomfortable as possible. Do you not understand how messed up that is.
  • They actually could have made it a lot more graphic and a lot more uncomfortable.
  • How are people jumping through so many hoops to defend two grown men who made the conscious decision that they were going to take one of the best female characters on tv and reduce her to a sexual plot device to be ~edgy~
  • I think the name is Sons of the harpy.
  • I haven't been enjoying the game of thrones series of games, the story hasn't grabbed me as much and it doesn't feel like I actually have any control over anything.
  • The violence and the sex of the final episode were desperation compensating for a storyline, Anyone can write that stuff. Unworthy of a big budget and a previously great production.
